Actually, US Helicopter will still be a 500 mile minimum after Jan 1. I think CO Insider said there were a few exceptions to actual mileage accrual.

Ah yes, the theme music that hasn't changed since the kinescope.

At least my station (the peacock network) isn't covering flooding - thankfully.

You guys don't need to cover flood stories - you have a Hurricane. <rimshot>

My mother brought me home a bag of peppered buffalo jerky from South Dakota...I was all ready to make fun of it, but it's actually not that bad.

Thanks. Just once I want the storm season to personally impact him - probably the only time I would watch his coverage, just to watch him say "Hurricane Me destroyed Haiti today."

That's awesome. ^ We just finished the invitation process and RSVPs are starting to trickle in to our wedding website. Believe me, the thrill she has now will only get better. :D

I really like the full-service aspect of your site...it's one-stop shopping. That's what I'm ultimately going for. Did you give a paper response option or push everyone to the website?

We are unable to complete the check-in process at this time. Please proceed to the airport for assistance.
Ugh - I've been getting this a lot recently. PDA site is showing 10/16 up front so I was hoping for an upgrade as well.

We opted to send an RSVP card that had three options: Send us an e-mail ([email protected]), call us on our landline phone that we never use but has an answering machine, or use the website which has a form that sends e-mail to the aforementioned rsvp e-mail address.

It saves everyone cost and time, and it was about $100 cheaper to not include stuff that has to be mailed back to us. We paid around $160 for the whole invitation package, which was 75 invites and 50 RSVP cards (some invites don't get RSVP cards, such as my coworkers). I figured that almost all of the people coming to our wedding have e-mail, and for the few that dont, they certainly have phones. It solved the issue with a bare minimum of effort and expense from everyone involved. Though, some brides are particular about that sort of stuff so, as with all things in relationships, talk about them and then see how you can make it happen for her. :)

I haven't actually stayed there since I live here, but I've been in there and it was pretty cool. It's a new hotel in a city known for its hotels (The US Grant?) and I can't imagine it will be awful.

This is exactly what we did and it worked out great. The website kept track of people and their e-mail addresses and allowed us to get a decent idea of who was coming. Only a few folks called and that was mostly because they didn't have a computer.

We're Going to London for Cheap!

Don't know if you guys are aware of this, but there's a good mistake fare running right now for ORD-IAD-LHR on UA for $48 plus tax round trip. I saw it last night but didn't act on it, but this morning decided to go for it. Both of us are now going to London for a long weekend in mid-February for $444 total. To sweeten the deal for us, my other half has to be in Chicago for work anyway for a few days before this trip, and we're leaving after his work there is done, so his employer will pick up the tab for the ATL-ORD round trip for him. I can probably get myself to and from ORD on work trips as well. And since I've got UA status still, we can book into E+.

So, yes, I've gone and done it. I've booked myself on an intercontinental flight in economy. But at least it's not regular 31-32" pitch economy. But still. I may need to get very, very drunk on that flight, since it's economy, and UA.

But I can't complain too much. I mean, we're both going to London for less than I paid for my last ATL-LBB round trip ticket on CO!

I tried very hard to get that fare to price out for mid-March (would be a great Spring Break trip) but couldn't...

Good catch on picking it up!
