What's amazing is the amount of stuff I've either gotten rid of or am getting rid of. Right now I have a sofa, entertainment center, coffee table, TV, and bookcases (although those might be spoken for now) listed on Craig's List. I've thrown out a bunch of stuff, hauled stuff to Goodwill, given stuff to friends, and yet there's still a ton to pack.
I did have a nice little trip down memory lane. I opened a box that's been in the bottom of the closet since I moved to this apartment in 2004. I found a bunch of airline timetables and OAGs from the 1998-2001 period. Those I'm keeping. I've come to believe that while moving is a major hassle, it's a good exercise to do every 5 years or so. It really makes you evaluate what you've got, and get rid of the junk you can't remember why you ever acquired to begin with. Then there are people like my parents, who are total packrats, and have lived in the same house for over 30 years. |

Too bad there's not a For Sale forum on here - for non-travel related items.

Looks like CO actually sold 3 last minute F tickets on my flight to LAX tomorrow. There are still 3 up front and no one else in the emergency exit rows, so I am keeping my fingers crossed for a +24 hour upgrade. :D

I see a lot of craigslist, ebay, and goodwill in my future. |

I don't want to think about that. I have a little over a month before the PHX-DXB move. And I haven't packed anything. I did manage to sell the 2 tvs. Those went like hotcakes at work.

I'm going to be doing that within the next 2 months. :(
We're in the packing up most of the stuff the first time around to make it look like our apartment is spacious and livable. Then after we sell comes the second round of packing to actually move. And somewhere in the middle of that we have to clean the place up enough that someone will buy it. Not fun at all... :( |

Random notes ATL-SJO
1. When 735's use the crossing runway it can get exciting.
2. When the board says departed, it really means the arriving aircraft hasn't gotten there. 3. Crosswind take-offs are exciting. 4. EWR-SJO-EWR has modified BF service including sundaes and cookies. 4.5. The pasta dish will continue to be the best choice. 5. Going from a first class seat to a 10$ a night hostel in the San Jose "Red Zone" is a bit of a step down 6. When buying goods and services in the Red Zone be sure to conduct due diligence and buyer beware. 7. Hanging out at the hotel del ray is underwhelming. 8. When you decide to do the eco-tourism thing, not most roads will be unpaved. 9. at any hostel you stay at, the attractive young ladies will be leaving the day after you check in. 10. Ziplining is fun, be sure to tie your shoes tightly lest they end up in the jungle. 11. The SJO airport is nice, it just costs $26.00 to leave the country. 12. The airport lounge is contracted by Copa airlines, but not Continental. 13. The free coffee at the airport is pretty good. 14. You will be delayed coming into EWR by ATC, and USCIS. 15. Security lines are EWR suck. 16. The EWR PC will be packed. 17. Slight rain will destroy CO's schedule at EWR. 18. The priority bag tags will not work at EWR but they will at ATL. yup, that's all. |
