One gets what one pays for. If there is a race to the bottom for fares, that revenue has to be made up in other ways.

It is a 1BR 1.5Bath 625sf duplex with a 200sf back yard (grill included :D) in Chelsea, pretty much on the corner of Chelsea, Meatpacking and W. Village. Probably going to list it for ~$850K and see what happens.

My first experience with National's Executive Selection turned out to be pretty decent. At LAX, I got an Avalon Touring Edition with leather and only about 500 miles. Can't complain about that... Although, I was a little bummed that they didn't have any S60s.

It is as you may remember, Manhattan. And in a fairly hot neighborhood. And with that rare commodity around here of having a backyard. And probably a charming two level or loft type place. Prices in NY have no relation to anything that you may have seen in (as ALCO has labeled it) that "putrid swamp."

The $850 does seem like a bit of a reach to me, but you never know. You might find just the right buyer who loves it and who is willing to go for the price.

I'm fully aware that it's Manhattan. My reaction is still - Wow!

I think I will take my putrid swamp thank you very much. :D

I come equipped with my own smoker. You can take the boy out of the south, but you can't take the south out of the boy. ;)

Sounds nice. Neighborhood, I don't think, is very practical for me however. I work in Westchester so I'm looking for something a bit further North. Wash. Heights / or on the UWS if there was easy enough access to the WSH (and if I could afford the UWS). I'm not to keen on living in a studio for half a mill.

Yeah, and I bated smb12 to post the price. The discussion about Houston and ATL real estate, here in the box, has made me angry on more than one occasion.

ConciergeMike, congrats on the new job.

[gloat]

Just finishing up a quick weekend MR with my first ever triple bump.

It would have almost been a quadruple bump if the idiots on the early am PVR flight we're able to make their flight...but that's another story.

Anyways UA was kind enough to kick back $1,200 in vouchers, a free ticket (which I used to get to the Poker Do in LAS this August as the retail price of a comparable ticket was north of $400) and two CR1s

Oh and the rebooked me on CO tomorrow in full Y :D

At times it's hard to hate UA.

But there's also not all that much to like.

Just got off a PS flight JFK-LAX and was completely unimpressed with the FC service about which they boast so loudly. The airplane was old and tired, the seat adjustments erratic and difficult to use (altho quite comfortable once it was set but don't try to change it or you need to start all over again), the food largely inedible, the IFE box also difficult to use, and the crew held continuing conversations at full blast up front making it difficult to sleep.

Just put me back on DL or CO at less than half the fare (altho I will admit that this one was a freebie with those *A miles).

Thanks! No fear for those who visit the shore, as I didn't leave Atlantic City.

Nice...and the mystery is solved as to UA's problems. I guess since management there has been shown to not care about too much except their personal wallets, the MO is to give the house away so people come back. Don't get me wrong, I love when I can take a bump...but I wonder how long our fearless traveler was held up to get all these goodies? After reading that long list of goodness that J. Edward got, my guess is 12-14 hours.

Please don't misunderstand: I'm not making fun, I just think it's a sad commentary on the airline itself.
