You among many. And the small fries who go 4-6 times a year are the ones that keep the emperor's clothes on, so even though you don't get the treatment from the casino side of the operation, you'll have to...ahem...go someplace with a superior hotel product.

It took over a year for me to get the spot I've been bragging about. Lose no faith.

I've been watching the flights that I'll be taking on my trip to Belize and the domestic arrival seems to come in on the east side of E while my departure to BZE departs from the west side of E (gates 2-5). The 27 minute connection makes me sweat a little. I guess on Sunday the traffic through E shouldn't be too bad.

Is there bump potential?

Well, there's a ~1:30pm flight to BZE, the issue is that I am catching a flight in BZE to one of the islands and having a car pick me up at the final destination.

As long as those plans are flexible to the point that you could take the bump enroute, and there stands a chance of a misconnect or a VDB, why not? Vouchers are a good thing.

Need advice from The Box - during my Southeast Asia junket this summer, is it worth it to spend 2 days seeing Angkor Wat?

I was among those who have watched Olie from the day he came into the league. At the time, we had season tix at the Spectrum hanging right over the goalies and the first time we saw him, the consensus was that he was going to be a top flight player.

I also happened to be in Washington and in the car the day that he came on WTEM and spent about 20 minutes on the John Thompson show setting forth the reasons for his decision. It was apparent that his feelings were badly hurt by the lack of consideration shown him by the organization.

He just wished that they had pulled him aside and told him that he did not figure in their future plans so that he could make a considered decision about his career. He still thinks that he has enough left to start in goal in the NHL (contrary to my opinion) and will try to hook up with somebody who will use him.

It did however seem to me that if the Caps had made him any kind of offer of any kind of job with the organization, he would have chucked the idea of playing in order to stay put. He loved that team, loves the area, and IMO seemed to think that he could have provided real value to the organization.

An interesting thing about that 20 minutes was that it was sandwiched in between all kinds of analysis and conversations about the NBA playoffs and the broadcasters who were there were basketball guys who probably had not much of a clue about the true accomplishments and skills exhibited by Kolzig over the years. All they knew was what they had read in the newspapers about him and what they had heard about how much the Caps fan base had loved Olie. I, for one, will miss him.

Now that I have experienced the wonderful thing that is LAX planespotting (wish I had an SLR!) I'm wondering what other airports are great for planespotting. What are some of your favorites?

An airport with lots of widebodies like LAX is a plus!

OK, now hearing that flips me around on the issue. I never knew the part about the Caps giving him short shrift, which quite frankly is surprising given George McPhee's reputation, which I understand to be quite good.

And thank you, with a thank you well in advance. I didn't get the keys (yet). I'm betting on end of the year/early next. You have to have 5 years experience in the industry and 3 as a full-time concierge just to apply, and that date happens early in June. It takes some people around a year to finalize everything and get the keys pinned on, but I have the business cards of most of the Board of Directors of Clefs d'Or USA. :D

It's hard to match the variety at LAX. I would guess something like JFK or IAD would be next. Also, ANC has tons of cargo 747's.
