PHL does stink like dinge. EWR stinks like rank. And FLL stinks like Depends.

Even though I hate the smell/condition of PHL, I still wish CO would bring back the cheap west coast fares out of there. I miss those great MR opportunities.

Agreed on both. The entire airport is beat, but I think that has more to do with the lousy news theme music, the choking sports teams, and the generally poor self-image that Philly has carved out for itself now that there's blood running into the storm drains. Oh yeah, and corruption that almost approaches that of Atlantic City.

She considered every guy a task? ;)

Awesome. A bit late, but congrats. Man, go away from the box for a few days and you come back to pages of posts to catch up on!

Not just a task, but multiple.

Much to the annoyance of sdm1130's post count, thanks very much!

Haha, that's classic.

sdm1130: I'm going to lunch now. Be back about 3:10 or so.

It's SO true. You walk past the WN gates and the odor is present, then you get to the CO gates and all is well. If you continue on to the UA and FL gates, the smell returns. The entire D concourse is still pretty beat though.

I despise flying in/out of PHL because of that D concourse. CO really should try to move to a better area. They really should burn that concourse down and start over. And having to mingle with the WN riff-raff is always an experience.

Yeah - what happened to the "common ground" DO idea? I was excited about visiting some semi-obscure mid-atlantic airport.

How about BWI? No P Club, though.

DCA?

I'd be all for a SJU-DO.

Yes, DCA might be better. We could hit the trifecta of US Skyteam member clubs. The Crown Room is quite nice and worth a visit for signature cocktails.

5 Guys... ! @:-)

I'm having a very bad afternoon. I was just speaking with a friend who is on an assignment in Uganda and I asked her to flush the toilet to confirm that it does, in fact, go counter-clockwise.

Well, it didn't. And my whole understanding of the world just came into question.

Apparently the Coriolis effect does not, despite that phenomenal Simpsons' episode, relate to draining water. Which I just confirmed with a google search.

(For anyone wondering how toilets flush in Uganda, they, apparently, just go straight down.)

What did you think of the AM lounge? I thought the amenities were great (especially the Reidel Wine Room, which was not open), but the club itself was too small.

Wait a second. Even if the Coriolis effect applies for drainage, most of Uganda, including the capital Kampala, is in the Northern Hemisphere. Though just barely.

Edit: More useless facts - from Google Earth, I found that the southern tip of the N-S runway at EBB is about 1.5 miles north of Equator.

But then I'd have to Amtrak! I want something that will generate a few thousand miles. :D

Although, I do love DC and would never pass on a trip there.

Worst reason for a delayed flight ever...

The pilot and FA were arrested, naked, lost in the woods after heading out for a tryst on their overnight. Top notch!
