After being royally screwed on flight arrangements by my former ex, I was forced to use miles to get to Asia this week. Lo and behold, the CO gods came through, and I got IAH-NRT-SIN, the returning HKG-EWR-IAH, all in F/BF and for only 120k miles! YYYYEEEEEEEEESSSS! Who says that you can't get last minute flights? :D

I loved the Money Pit. That is my answer to that statement.

Ahh, good one too. If you really wanna mess with someone, tell them that you're going straight to the top and going to see Benny. Or better yet, work in "and there's this line that reaches to Spain".

So you're back together now?? :D

Last minute is the only time to get flights I thought. At least folks make it sound that way. I've gotten seats close in and far out, depending on the route. I've never had to change plans because a seat wasn't available, though my plans generally revolve around getting plane tickets and then going from there, so that may not be a great metric.

Too bad NRT-SIN is now 332, not the 744; otherwise you can sit upstairs...

But have a great trip!

Don't forget the half-dozen or so to CVG.

And it would seem so weird flying DL down there for a CO DO....

It's not so different since you only get 50% EQMs with discount fares. You guys should be accustomed to that by now.

And the discount fare that you should look for is the T7 which is good anytime as long as you can book 7 days in advance. It was $178 a week or so ago and now, mirabile dictu, it has gone up to $201. Still not so bad.

*Can I guess that the reference was to Cassius Clay (or maybe he had changed his name by that time) talking to Howard Cosell?

FWIW - CO28 on 5/16 (EWR-LHR) had the hottest group of 12 FAs I've seen in a while... 6 women, 6 men. All looked amazing. It was a nice ride to London :)

Of course, we were delayed a few hourse due to them having to drag someone off the plane (I assume he was drunk), then had to find his luggage... then they couldn't get the jetbridge away from the plane.

Thanks, I was just insanely curious. ;)

I'm driving up to Long Island this afternoon, going to dinner at the restaurant owned by Opie from "Opie and Anthony", and then playing golf at none other than Bethpage Black tomorrow. A wonderful use of my weekdays off, if I do say so myself. :D

So what are the odds of being bumped by a FAM out of 2B on an international flight (737)?

I am hesitant to book two seats on separate PNRs and take 2A and 2B.

Low, IME.

Especially if it's your MBJ trip you're talking about.

I agree. I kind of doubt FAMs go to BZE very often. :) If the worst happens and one of you does get moved, you can always ask other F passengers to switch seats so you can sit together.

Why not call and request 1A and 1B? They are much better seats IMO.

A wonderful opportunity to run up the post count in the box against you, thanks for the head's up. ;)

Not sure what your routing will be but if you go off course by a few miles and end up in Westchester and want an impromptu meet-up, shoot me a PM. I have to warn you though, I'm not nearly as funny in person (not that I'm funny on here either), as it's very hard to hyperlink spoken words. Although I'm working on a solution for it*.

*It involves my crackberry, a speak-and-spell, and the "bloop" noise from TiVo. I'll say no more.
