I've floated the idea to a couple developers and they all poo-poo it saying that "no one wants to meet a stranger off the internet." And they're trying to convince me that there's a huge liability if, heaven forbid, a user were to get raped or something. But, I don't know if I buy that.

Thoughts?

Have you looked at triplife.com? That site is trying to match traveling folks for various activities, including eating.

I've been toying with it, though i haven't seen much attention on it.

Star Pizza: another Houston institution I'll definitely miss. :(

I miss Fu's Garden off San Felipe. It was right across the street from work and had amazing huge lunch specials. Everytime I eat chineese food in NYC I get sick. Do any of you NYC FT'ers have a recomendation for cheap (white meat) generals chicken?

^^ for Star Pizza. I've been to both of them. One in the Heights and one off of Sheppard. I could go for some of their pizza now.

Well, since I am moving to the west side, what is a few blocks north... Do you have the name of the restuarant?

I *almost* drove there and got a personal to go for lunch. :D

Not me... I just finished up a big order of Pad Thai and a salad with peanut sauce.

Mmmm - how jealous am I!? I wish there were some decent Thai places around here. I ended up just throwing a frozen pizza in the oven for my lunch. :(

Pizza and chinese food as diet material?

If you are in Midtown Manhattan we usually order "Saigon 48" for lunch at the office. The Pad Thai and Chicken Vermicelli is pretty good and cheap.

I need to go on a diet :(

Having said that, the food discussion is just making my day drag even more...Fridays are always slow in the first half of the day because nobody is here yet, but today is just insane between the slow lobby and my hangover-like feeling because yesterday's golf pain isn't gone yet.

Wouldn't that be nice! I was thinking more that maybe people were dreaming of good food because they were only eating healthy/diet food.
