I prefer Due's, but I also find the lines at both generally annoying.
And congrats on making the 4000th post in the Box! I guess that should make this the 4000th reply. :D As for the post, that was pure chance. I had no idea. |

Ouch. PHL-ORD refundable on AA and UA is about $400 RT. And NW was charging $900 non-refundable?
And I'm with sbm12, I prefer Due's, though either is awfully good. But no tool this time, I was driving and called. It turns out the agent put me in a B2PBF basis which is about $300 one way more expensive than the lowest F. Why???? Probably because the agent booked the lowest coach fare. The return was an H and this made the whole thing change fee liable. It is amazing the ignorance that goes on in these forced agencies and booking tools. The agency we have has some good people but lordy they have some doorknobs as well. I forgot to mention about the lines at Uno's/Due's: I have several workarounds. First, if on biz I am always alone. I head right to the bar and bypass the horde. If very busy I may have to wait 15 minutes for a seat as those prior get called for their table. If I am in town with the family I will go over a little early and put in for the line, order, then either sit and drink awaiting the others or leave and come back in 30 minutes or so. The bar trick I use all the time. In fact, I have become a bar eater. I so much prefer sitting there then at a table. Being alone there is nothing worse than sitting there staring into space. I bring stuff to read but being at a table is so, I don't know, highlighted as being alone. "Just one?" as if there is something wrong with me. At the bar there are other people, service generally is way better, one fits right in as a 'single', etc. I have become so used to it that when at home and with family we usually head to the bar and bypass the tables, depending on the establishment of course. |

I just read on a.nut that DL may be cutting JFK-LGW as of September 1 - although, no official announcement has been made. If this is in fact true, then I find it pretty surprising as they only operated this with a 752.
Looking at tonight's loads on CO114 and CO116, it doesn't look like CO is having any trouble maintaining high loads from EWR-LGW. |

ALCO, where are the pics, brutha? What, are you on vacation or something? :D
Haven't had time to post any pics yet, as I'm trying to maximize my time in each place. Off to catch my Tupolev in a few minutes :D :D :D |
I just want to say that I'm dying here -- just got off the IAH-NRT flight in BF in 1b, took a shower and am now trying to keep my eyes open for another 3.5 hours until my connecting flight to SIN leaves at 1900. The NW lounge (one of two here, I think. I'm by gate 18) is nice, but is a bit cramped and gets a LOT of traffic. However, they have Lipton tea in a dispenser, and I'm trying to get some of that in my system before I hit up the Sapporo on TAP! :D
I have never looked forward to the Hilton bed more than I am right now. Conrad SIN, here I come. I never thought that it would be a 7 hour flight!! Even though I'm not on a 747, I do get to see the new NW WBC seats. The meal looks kind of lame, but I'm not really complaining. However, being my first trip to the Orient, I went downstairs and walked around -- and I am amazed at the beauty of the women here in Japan. WOW! :D  That kept me eyes open as I walked around. ^ Not that I should have expected anything else, but after looking at the FA's for a while, followed by my 6th viewing of The Bucket List on the flight (we need AVOD in Asia, CO! My flight HKG-EWR doesn't have it either here in a few weeks either!) I needed something to look at. In fact, why am I typing here on this smelly thread -- I'm going downstairs...although typing is keeping me awake. I will return and type more herer in a bit. It's 1525......keep it going. BTW: ssullivan, I'm not going to make your going away DO, but best of luck whereever you are moving to (is it LBB? :D ). Late ---- tbf |
No problem, I figured as much. Hope you're having a great time. ^

Color me jealous. Do you have the game to match? I seriously doubt I could break 100 out there.
- The course itself lives up to the hype and then some. Elevation changes make for awesome vistas. I got a pic from 17 green looking back down to the tee with a rainbow over the course. ^^^^ - The famed 4th hole: long par 5, bunkering that makes Tour pros cry...it tends to be distracting, just somewhat, when the Blue Angels buzz your tee box. They're in town for Jones Beach this weekend. - Walking a course that has said elevation is just plain wrong. I got up to go to the bathroom this morning and was doing the old man one foot in front of the other shuffle. - The merch was surprisingly reasonable, with much of it discounted. I got two logo polos for $80 on a 2 for 1. - You can play it once and say that you did it, unless you're in fantastic shape (which I'm not) or a masochist regarding your golf game (which I'm not). ETA: On #9, it took me two shots to travel slightly more than 400 yards. It then took another five to hole out from 15 feet behind the green. And I played this course in what the locals said was "nothing even remotely resembling Open conditions". Will post a link to some pics as soon as I get them off the camera. |

I've experienced the last minute trips where a seat in F is cheaper than a seat in Y yet we have to book the coach seat. Two things make me angry about this: 1) Coach should never be priced more than First. Never. 2) Shouldn't rule #1 on the corp. side be - save the most money? Although I suppose if that were the case I'd be flying with the chicken referenced in my sig. block. To hop back to the random Box DO topic - I have to go down to SoFl the weekend of June 14th. I think I remember hearing ALCO and at least one or two others were going to be in that neck of the woods sometime in June (but I'm too lazy to wade through all this to look up when). Fares are typical Florida cheap, $209 from EWR. And it's a bit more in the EQM dept. than a trip to DCA for most of us non IAH'ers. |

Yet they make you submit actual hotel receipts (no other receipts are needed) because some pinhead is afraid you will try to slip in a $10 porno, yet they insist on you using a tool that is horrendous and can cost several hundred in one shot of bad info.
