[Edited to add]

And they just folded.

Interesting analogy. @:-)

Unfortunately the debt you acquire while being a student can't be paid off at pennies on the dollar. Trust me, I've tried.

And be careful when "baby bird" ( ) starts paddling his own canoe. A lot of people end up just paddling in a big circle for a couple years before they realize it. And then they want to trade up to the ski nautique. Unfortunately the current has already taken them a bit too far downstream to easily accomplish that.

Not to be pessimistic or anything. The real world is great. Just stay true to who you are, what you want to do, and be honest with yourself.

Otherwise some a$$hat in your office will get one of those "dumb office dares" calendars and will leave a note on your car some random Tuesday that says "you paid for this car with your dreams." And you'll nervously laugh the whole way home...

Whoa. That was way too deep for the Box.

Back to more important matters. With the collapse of Oasis, it got me thinking, Is One Two Go still in business? The website appears to be down, but the oh so reliable wikipedia makes no mention of their closure.

In other news, I think I'm officially a Lutraphobic.

Whoa. Post 777. Too bad that link I posted wasn't to youtube otherwise I could have had an AVOD equipped 777 post. rkkwan would have been soooo jealous.

And then "baby bird" will be paddling his own canoe as Mom says.

Only two degrees? Amateur. :p :D

2 degrees is absolutely amateur

BA x2, MIS, and a J.D. You know I may just throw an MBA on top of that; why because I can.

Waste of money & time (not for everyone, though). If you can't maximize the value of that J.D., the MBA won't be much help. An LL.M. might be money better spent, depending on what you're interested in doing.

A LL.M. is only good if you getting it in Tax, because nobody understands tax law.

Yes, I wonder whether any of my cheapo relatives from Hong Kong have been stranded. ;)

I have one aunt only flies to London to visit her daughter because there's Oasis' cheap fare. Otherwise, she won't go see the daughter. :p

It can be good in other fields as well, like Admiralty. If I get esconced in that practice area (hopefully), I'd seriously consider expending the time, effort & $$$ necessary to get the Tulane LL.M. in Admiralty after a few years of practice.

So my money is on US being the next "big" airline to tank.

Myself and another FTer were trying to figure out where that joke of a carrier actually flies and this morning I looked it up and confirmed what I originally thought, nowhere important. :p

Not the Tribal law LL.M. from ASU?

Heretical as it may seem as an FTer, I'm partial to the law of the sea. It's a nice blend of ancient, weird, and complicated. Also, I think I could do without living in North Dakota :D.

On an unrelated note, I'm glad the Astros suck this year. Should be pretty easy to score the office tickets for most of the season .

Yep - been using that for awhile. They have added several airports in the last year or so.

Hmmm... Looks like we were right on with the guess of a few European destinations from CLT and PHL. No Asia. No South America. What a winner!

When was the last season that the Astros didn't suck (seriously - I don't mean to sound perjorative)?

When we went to the World Series two years ago. Sure, we got swept by the White Sox, but we're a National League team - it's expected. ;)
