My brother flew an Ariana Afghan Airlines A300 Kabul-IST-Kabul a few years back. It even had a first class section, which meant you got to sit in the front of the aircraft in a seat with a few more inches of pitch (no extra service or even different seats).

I did 300's on CO (to DEN and EWR) and 310's on DL (to Europe in the early 90's).

It probably wasn't one of the newer -B6 models like AA's, either.

I believe it was an ex-Air India. Some (and possibly all) of Ariana's 727's are ex-AA.

Flew LH A300 FRA-PRG in 2004, I believe.

Interesting FA announcement

Today on my MCO-EWR flight the FA did the usual announcement after take off
and added the following " In economy we will have a beverage service , and a meal , unlike other airlines which shall remain nameless , we at CO still feed you"

also
today's meal in F included TOMATO soup and a fajita
I even scored a companion upgrade :D

"No cheese soup for you!"^

No cheese soup for me either last night on SNA-IAH. Instead the southwest corn chowder was served.

But I'm sure if J.Edward was traveling last night on CO in F and it was a lunch or dinner flight, they brewed up a pot of cheese soup just for his flight. :p

I'd like to punch the person who designed the overhead bins on the 735. The second set of bins doesn't open more than a few inches because of the F - Y ceiling partition. It's like a c*ck tease. "Here's an empty bin. That you can't use. Go back to row 19 to store your bag."

How have I never noticed this before?

Looks like WN beat CO to the 'CoUniHoud' idea!

Well looks like my 6+ month EUA streak is coming to an end. Wednesday's SNA-IAH flight is showing full in F and I'm still in 14A. So no cheese soup for me. :(

A few weeks ago, I said here that my parents may get to fly the DC-10 of Omni International MIA-MAO? Well, the plane broke down today at MIA, and they'll have to wait until tomorrow morning the earliest to get down to the Amazon.

And yesterday, they missed their DL connection to FLL in ATL. Rerouted to MIA, fortunately in first class on a 752.

That's what happens to regular CO flyers when they're not flying CO.... ;)

All the L.A.-area airports are tough EUA's, in my experience, although Saturdays provide some degree of relief for SNA and ONT.

I have never been able to get an upgrade from SNA, and LAX is pretty tough too.
Good Luck

I am the stupidest person on earth!

I thought I was smart and decided to apply for the NW credit card. They have a $55 card with 15K bonus miles and a $90 card with 20K. I went with the $55 card.

Now, I found a link for non-annual fee for either. So, I basically tossed $55 and 5,000 miles down the drain.

I'll play stupid try to get them to waive the fee once I get the card, but I am not sure they'll bulge.
