Hospitality much appreciated, thanks...I just saw those flights and I think that's what I'm doing. I don't know where those wacky high fares from earlier came from. I've been to MSY, girlfriend hasn't. We're looking at CO716 in, drop the bags and go right to Johnny's. Walk the Quarter, and then wake up for Cafe Du Mond. CO217 back at 2:50...an almost perfect 36-hour quickturn. Thanks for the help, all.

There are times when one could simply call it a day after waking up at 5:30am to conduct document review in some obscure corner of a pointless city located in the armpit of the Gulf of Mexico. Such judgment calls generally call for a rare breed of reasoning known as common sense. Thankfully, I sold short on common sense before the market for it tanked, and lived to claw my way through another night of random chance and serendipity. Cheers to the fellow degenerates who made it out to the Saucer for ill-advised tipples of Imperial Stout. Peace be upon you, at least until Thursday rears its ugly head :D

I could punch that emoticon right now.

Nothing like starting the day in The Box off right, with a heapin' helpin of cheer. :)

colpuck Jan 31, 2008 7:36 am

I know the feeling, cheer is out the window today. :D (At least I was EUA'd on all of my flights this weekend).

Once the coffee intake level is adjusted accordingly, I might just survive.

Where'd you get EUA'd to?

ConciergeMike Jan 31, 2008 7:48 am

See, while you two were out drinking, I was taking some newly gained FT experience and putting together a 36-hour jaunt to MSY...didn't get to bed til almost 3AM East, but the flights are booked, and the pre-night at EWR Hampton and the night at Hilton St. Charles is all done. Before you ask why that took until 3AM, I can cut that off: the not-yet Mrs. C-Mike hasn't traveled much growing up - had to answer lots of questions.

^ to trips to MSY. IAH-MSY is my most traveled route. Great city.

Did you guys end up going to the Saucer last night?

I'm on my second cup of coffee, looking out the window waiting for the fog to clear so I can see this "mother of all storms" roll through the area.

I think so. It's all a bit blurry. 11.4% abv Beer should not be legal.

I'm on the 41st floor of a building, and can't see anything other than a wall of white out the window. Can't even make out the ground below. Eerie

ALCO, I am going on one of the PBI runs this weekend.

I am in class right now, and it feels like one big beating.

No kidding. But that stuff sure did taste good!

I'm really glad I didn't have to go anywhere to work today other than my home office. Stumbling 20-30 feet from bed to desk is doable. Driving to IAH and getting on a plane early this morning; not so much.

But it was fun! Next time I just need to have one less of those beers.

I was "awake" at 5:30am. Not a pleasant experience.

That was definitely not the beer to have in addition to the Dunkelweiss provided by my free Biggie Beer certificate. I was somewhere slightly south of sober by the time I left last night.

Just 99 beers to go...I should start a countdown :D

From the sound of it, I guess I should be thankful for only having two beers last night. And, JEdward, thanks for the lift home.

So was I. But fortunately I didn't have to get up and get ready to go anywhere.

Hmm... looking at my receipt I had four beers, three of which were the North Coast Old Stock.

Sure was glad I opted for MetroRail last night, instead of driving downtown.
