Thank you. No, the Borgata.

edit: the HH forum will lament to no end that Hilton Atlantic CIty isn't Hilton-owned, no points, no HHonors, no nothing. The name was kept as a condition of the sale to Colony Capital LLC, they of Raffles fame.

Congrats on the job. Where were you before?

From the aircraft profile: "The remaining Superjet models, the 100-75 and 100-95 are the first Russian airliners designed from the outset to meet Western certification standards."

There may be a reason for the previous lack of enthusiasm for Russian/Soviet built aircraft ;)

Even nicer! I planned a stay there a few months back but had to cancel due to a change in plans. I've been to some concerts there, but never stayed overnight. IMO, the only truly "nice" hotel in AC.

So, if I tell them I know Mike, do I get my room comp'd? :D

Thanks. Regarding where I still am until 31 May, I'd rather not say. The media did in its reputation quite nicely, and partially without merit. If you follow NJ headlines, you can probably read between the lines, especially if you read the Star-Ledger.

If only it worked that way. :D

I don't touch comps, but if The Box feels the need to come down and see a show, rest assured the first round or two is on me.

Darn! :D Paying $400+ a night for an AC hotel on a weekend is just insane! They still seem to do a good business though.

It's Capitalism 101, my friend. It won't change, either. People get hammered at dinner or too burned at the beach and end up having the necessity to stay, so the rates reflect that instead of the sensible visitor. They will continue to do a great business with The Water Club opening soon, and it made my decision that much easier when my girl got a job managing the retail in the new building.

Far be it for me to start a flame war. :p The problem as I see it both with the Borgata and AC in general is that they are both in New Jersey.

J/K. Seriously, the Borgata is a seriously nice hotel from what I remember seeing on the documentary on its construction.

You're not wrong there either. NJ does not support tourism the way it should on a state level. It should be said that the Atlantic City Convention and Visitors Authority (ACCVA) spends more on marketing itself and the city than the state spends on marketing AC as a destination.

Congratulations. Now, if I could land a job in Houston, things would be right with my world.

Wow! I am in AC often (for work mostly). I'll have to stop by to personally congratulate you. Where will be able to find you at the Borgata? At the Concierge Desk?

Thanks. So the application to CO was a no-fly? :D (Sorry, had to.)

The state has one...and the latest round of bids for new ownership was too low according to sources.

Indeed. My schedule isn't set yet, but for those interested, I'll post as soon as I know for sure.
