Agreed - I had one of those as it relates to public display, and I achieved it. Go Otter!

CO Sponsored dining specials in NYC

I posted this originally in the NYC forum since it is targeted more at NYC than CO, but figured I'd also toss a post into the Box for anyone who is interested and finds themself in NYC this week. CO is apparently sponsoring an International Restaurant Week.

Seems like there are a couple decent options on the menu, not the least of which is the $20 add-on for a wine pairing for one of the meals.

My girl will be in NYC on Wednesday, but on business with about 30 other people. I did see this and thought making the drive, but the only thing that jumpde out at me was Brazilian steakhouses...my reasoning is not to set the bar too high, as I can always run into Philly and hit Fogo de Chao.

I definitely wouldn't do it for Churrascaria Plataforma - the place just doesn't merit a special trip, though it is a decent option in the genre. Alfama sounds good, but I went there a couple years back during restaurant week and swore I'd never go back. I might try Toloache or Pamplona, but I don't know that I'll actually make it to any of them.

I'm going through withdrawals again... I have sat with 31" of pitch in a month and it is starting to show; I walked around the house yesterday like I was defeated. Taking one of the co.com specials to AMA or MAF is sounding better now.

AMA?? MAF?? Can't find anything a little more exciting? :)

I had a similar feeling when I realized I don't have any CO flying scheduled for the month of May. I had 4 NW flights this past weekend but it's just not the same. 31 days until my next CO flight...

Was the discussion of the small lav on the CR9 discussed here in The Box? I think it was... All I can say is wow! Not only did I bump my head on the top of the door on the way in, but I also bumped my head on the ceiling once I got in there! It was next to impossible to turn and I almost fell out when I was trying to open the door again to leave. I'm a pretty average size guy too. Who the heck designed that thing??

In other lav related news, the front lav on the E175 is actually a halfway decent size. A little smaller then the 737 lav but still manageable.

It's all about LRD. AMA and MAF are way too upscale for a desperation run. Alternatively, you could wedge an uncomfortable chair in a broom closet, place a single leaf of lettuce and slice of turkey on a week-old stale roll, then sit in there for a few hours. Voila! All the magic and ambience of travel at your doorstep, at pennies on the dollar. If you ring the "call button," (just shout) you might get lucky and your lady could bring you a can of Heineken for $5. :D

I know the feeling. My drive to LFT this weekend will be my first excursion out of Houston in three weeks. Actually getting excited about a rental-car drive along I-10. I must have slid beyond the breaking point days ago.

I know that feeling I am driving ATL-MCO for the MCO-FNT MR on Wednesday. I was wondering about the EUA but it looks like there are just enough plats to lock me out of getting it.

EWR-MSP fares are a bit overpriced. I need to be there the last weekend in July and fares are almost $450 for a 2 hour domestic flight! Thank you CO, NW and high oil prices. :p

This has nothing to do with high oil....the prices have always been that high. SunCountry keeps JFK tolerable, and I think that AA offers service to/from LGA to help there. But on the non-stops from EWR the fares have always been high. I used to pay $1400 r/t every week on full Y fares back in 2000/2001, and the fares are still in that same ballpark.

Really? I remember seeing coach fares from EWR-MSP in the $250 range several times in the past 2-3 years. I know I have paid much less than $400 for past trips.
