8500 EQMs

At almost 6 cents/EQM, it sounds a bit pricey to me. Have you checked around for other dates? I've seen IAH-PHL as low as $180 all in and PHL-SMF is usually around $210 all in.

Let me know if you decide to do it - I may be able to join you for the PHL-SMF portion.

I swear, EWR is such a nightmare. I can't even get a calzone on my flights to PIT. Good thing the new CO/UA half-merger is going to open up a whole bunch of new nonstops from PIT so I can avoid EWR in the future.

Then again, the calzones give me gas.

This is the most ineffective organization I've dealt with in a long time.

I setup a new acct a few weeks ago, they never sent me an email confirming it or with my new acct number.

Fast forward a few weeks, they send me n email saying my statement is ready, but i can't login. None of my normal PINs work and they won't tell me what it is.

Worse yet, they won't give me my account number so I can reset it online. This isa fter validating all the other information they have.

That and the fact they only keep statements for a month, if you don't save it, you lose it which I think it's ridiculous given how cheap storage is these days.

Yeah - horrendous. If you use a credit card for automatic replenishment, you don't even get to set what the replenishment should be. They have a whacked algorithm that will replenish your account for hundreds of dollars if it shows your toll activity is high. And by high, I mean you went over the bridge one too many times on a weekend. They're earning a ton of cash sitting on the prepaid money they take in absolutely ridiculous amounts that they and they alone determine.

Just wait until you try to do your taxes if you haven't been saving your statements and need to deduct some tolls. Nope. Sorry. We purge everything after a month. Ugh. Insult to injury when I already have to pay $8 to cross a bridge.

peace,
~Ben~

According to my 16 year old sisiter-in-law, proper syntax for this is:

"OMG!11!!!1one!~!!~!eleventy!!~!1!!11111!"

I thought it was common knowledge for a long time that NJ EZ pass stinks and it's better to have a NY one? I have a NY EZ pass.

Does the NJ one do discounts on the bridges?

I had a PA one, but the whole reason I dropped it and went to the NJ one is for the discounts on the bridges since i'm crossing them a lot more.

I thought I had a NY one, but now that you say that, I'm not sure since mine does suck. Maybe it doesn't suck as much as fozz's and this is just a sliding scale of suck. Now I have to investigate.

Yeah, I took one of those last year.

The plus side to the PHL-SMF is that I could sleep in my own bed one night and save on a hotel and do it without missing work.

I don't think NY is great or anything (I can't seem to change my pin), but it works well enough. But I've heard all sorts of horror stories with NJ EZPass.

Looks like NJ and NY offer discounts. I got a NY one as soon as I moved to NJ (before NJ had one) since I would be crossing Staten Island so much.

NY EZ Pass once billed me the full toll penalty(about $18) twice a day for a month when my tag stopped working. Somehow the tag wasn't registering yet they could bill it to my tag credit card. It took me about 6 calls and 2 months to get them to refund about $500. They wanted to credit my account which would have lasted me about 5 years since I have a permit and my commute is usually free. On the plus side, I can use EZ Pass to pay for airport parking.:)
