Hmmm... reasonable flight prices to SAV and TUS. I have always wanted to visit both of those places. Time to start convincing the Significant Otter. I've been good and completed my most recent allotment of wedding planning activities. I think a trip is in order.

I did once transfer 7K MR to CO, but that was solely because my mother threatened to turn off my supply of upgrades.

I would call myself HH, CO, and MR in that order. I don't travel enough to really hoard, but I do a lot to get bonus points...e-miles, e-Rewards, etc. e-miles is tied to CO, and I've made several thousand RDM that way, and I also try to utilize ShopOnePass as much as possible. e-Rewards usually goes to HH, and I've easily gotten a night out of that so far. The highest my MR balance ever made it to was about 180K, and I cashed out for a TaylorMade driver (R7 425 edition), a Staples gift card, and two Amex gift cards.

Just went to Chinatown (NYC) for an early Chinese New Year's lunch with a bunch of Hong Kongians (?) from my office. We ate at a place down on Mott St across from Amazing 64. The food was definitely :rolleyes::rolleyes:, but they all seemed to love it. I couldn't figure it out. Even the Indian girl form Hong Kong liked it all. I eat a lot of Chinese and have traveled all over to Hong Kong, etc and it was most certainly . I didn't think it was any better than "Sincere Garden" takeout across the street from my apartment in the Bronx. I went into it assuming they had a real gem in mind or knew where to find really tasty Chinese food. Go figure.
Anyway, an early happy new year to any Chinese FTers: Gung Hey Fat Choy! Sun nean fai lowk! Guang xi fau chi! peace, ~Ben~ (& not to forget my Korean friends on FT: 음력설날복 많이 받으세요!) |

Neither. It would be a full VS award for JFK-LHR. Turns out ANA has better inventory and lower mileage requirements.
I'm just torn if it's worth burning the MR points for it. |

I emailed [email protected] yesterday and received a response this morning (shocking on its own!). After a few back and forth emails with the agent, he agreed to credit the flight with 150% EQMs in 3-4 days. About an hour later, the EQMs were in my account.

SPG is still 1:1 with many programs, which is why I rate them so highly. The ability to redeem for Suites within the SPG program is another reason why they are at the top of my list, as is fifth night free. Amex MR doesn't transfer into nearly as many programs as SPG (noticeably absent is BA).

I think the NJ EZPass organization needs to be bombed.
This is the most ineffective organization I've dealt with in a long time. I setup a new acct a few weeks ago, they never sent me an email confirming it or with my new acct number. Fast forward a few weeks, they send me n email saying my statement is ready, but i can't login. None of my normal PINs work and they won't tell me what it is. Worse yet, they won't give me my account number so I can reset it online. This isa fter validating all the other information they have. That and the fact they only keep statements for a month, if you don't save it, you lose it which I think it's ridiculous given how cheap storage is these days. |
Speaking of *W I just signed up for their AMEX via the 15k bonus offer (10k initial bonus plus a 15k bonus after spending 15k.) I've already got the AMEX but it's from a long time ago (anyone remember how the card looked before we got the maroon one?) and for that one there was no real bonus offer.
Anyways I'm wondering what AMEX will do. |
Found that I can do IAH-PHL-IAH-SMF-IAH-PHL-IAH for $502 ai. If I want, I can do an overnight connection in IAH on the return for a little more.
Trying to decide if it's worth it. 8500 EQMs |
