Any suggestions for places to stop between SEA and YVR?

I loved Whidbey Island (and definitely try to sample the Whidbey Island Liquour, made from the berries up there). http://www.accidentalhedonist.com/in...&c=1&tb=1&pb=1

If you have time, it is worth taking the ferry somewhere. We took one from Anacortes to Orcas Island - which was beautiful in the fall.

Hmmm... I'm scheduled for IAH-MSY late Friday Evening. Possibly not the best of flight choices at the moment.

Yeah - our weekend in NOLA was cut short over Labor Day due to Gustav...

At least Pat O's was still open before we left - so we had a Hurricane to celebrate our evacuation for a real Hurricane.

Keep us posted. At least the MSY-IAH flights will fly... unlike the CHQ MSY-CLE flights............

Portions of the post that previously appeared in this space have been deleted. I would provide you with a reason why, but doing so would likely be against the TOS.

Who knows? I suspect that Ike will trend southward.

I'm considering buying a few fully refundable tickets out of Houston for the weekend, either to LIT, BNA, or ATL. Only problem is that there is no guarantee that the flights will even leave Houston, which rather defeats the point of the whole exercise.

I hope you are right about trending southward. Right now, the Cone of Idiocy has Houston right in its sights.

If Ike looks like it will be a direct-hit, I would suspect CO would move the bulk of its aircraft out by late Thursday evening, or early Friday morning. I doubt there will be much, if any, in the way of flights by late Friday Evening (assuming the direct-hit scenario plays out).

My first ever trip to MSY was three weeks after Katrina hit. I don't know if Pat O's was open, but Tropical Isle sure was. They didn't have any air-conditioning, and the Quarter had a ripe smell of diesel, rotting garbage, and even less-appealing odors... but they had Ice, and Ice-Cold Hand-Grenades. ^

Great. I'm scheduled to fly through IAH early Friday evening.

I would accept loss of an EUA over being stuck here for a Cat 3+.

I'll just talk an agent into rescheduling the entire trip for the following weekend instead. In any event, CO probably won't issue a weather waiver until Thursday evening, when all my options through EWR are already sold out.

I dunno, i think that's being pretty nice. I would say a Dash 8 or Saab 340...

In Hell's Sports Bar, the bartenders are all ex-US employees.

I have been to Hell's Sports Bar. It's shared between the Sheraton and Wyndham on Cable Beach, in Nassau. Bar none the most depressing place in the Caribbean.

Yeah, if I can get me a weather waiver before all the Golds get upgraded.
