In other news, a bit hearty good luck to CM.

Thank you, sirs. I'll be posting pictures at first convenience from coming home.

Hmmm....the CO.com weekend specials email just arrived. Somehow a weekend in BOG for $599++ doesn't seem like such a bargain. There are some good ones from EWR this weekend though, including BDA, AVL and most of Florida and the Canadian destinations. This would be an interesting way to start in to my Hawaii runs leaving next Tuesday...

Welcome home. All the stuff that needs to be on the site is on there, and during the winter when it's slow at work I will probably take on the task of making a full site, whether thru an online developer or via buying software.

Thank you - I knew I should have checked the CIA World Factbook for Islands No One Should Voluntarily Visit! ;)

I've never been to Dominica but I was just surprised that such a small island could manage to be so craptastic.

It is beyond craptastic...craptacular is more apt. The straw markets set up by the cruise ship pier, and it can barely be called a pier. On one hand, it's sad because Dominica is a great example of Caribbean poverty. The banana crop is everything there...think oil and Saudis, but sub in bananas. On the other hand, there's hardly any sandy beach, so the tourism sucks. They've been heavily pushing diving and ecotourism, but it's not getting the job done. ALCO wasn't joking about a sulfuric blight either. Dominica is home to the world's second-largest boiling lake.

Here's the real Factbook entry. Pretty it sure isn't.

Cruising is one of the best examples anywhere of the old adage "Don't knock it til you tried it."

Been on a cruise in the Caribbean. Never again. I'd like to try a cruise in the Mediterranean or in Alaska.

I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on a BWI-SAN R/T for $235.50 a/i, MR (Saturday, 9/27, with a redeye return). Anyone want to join me? I'll need it to downgrade to silver for next year. Only 2 1/2 hours in SAN. There's a 3 1/2 hour stop in IAH on the way there.^

CO Advertising

I actually saw some along Route 22 in the ABE area. They had space on an electronic billboard touting their nonstop service ABE-CLE. Shocking to see CO advertising outside of NYC, CLE, and IAH.

That is the perfect amount of time to go to the Karl Strauss bar across from the CO gates, just after security. Red Trolley is my favorite, but I'm sure they'll have several to choose from.

I was hoping to go to an In-and-Out and grab one of their burgers. I know there is one close by and they are open late.

Good morning from Viet Nam. I had a day from Hades but hey, that's why I'm here :) I did, however, decide I would relieve my stress and when I called down for my massage they asked if I would like the package and I said "why not?". I then enjoyed a four handed massage and then a facial from one while I received a foot massage by the other. It was, I must say, quite nice; and less than I pay for a normal massage in Sugarland. I'm now on my third glass of champagne in the lounge enjoying the free wireless instead of the $20 version in my room (same suite as last time with the plasma in the bath with the rose petals). Here's a first. The grand tower mgr. asked me if I would like a reduced rate since I stay here so much?????? :D:confused::cool:

My UA F flight here was actually flawless and the service quite extraordinary. UA you say? Really? And sorry, while they were HKG based, most were US ex pats. Very nice. Chatted with a couple. One asked me about coming in from EWR and about the rain there and she told me HKG was the best place to be based for UA. So while I'm not chasing UA anytime soon, at least I'm not dreading the *alliance as much after that experience. And I must say, the safety demonstration was the best I have ever seen. Truly comic relief.

CM - great comments on concierge service!!!^

In other news , My GF got me an Iphone for my bday yesterday.
She only provided the box (her mom just bought one so she borrowed it)
So actually I have an Iphone Box until we go to the store and get one .
But she said if I did not want to switch to ATT , she would buy me something else.
I currently have service with T-mobile , so I have to decide what to do .
I looked into unlocking the 3g iphone but i heard a rumor that if you cancel the ATT service after activation, you not only pay the fee , but you must return the phone to them.

and good luck to CM also

I highly recommend the Sheraton. Highly. MR BL will tell you I complain about hotels alot and I haven't said a bad word about this place. It's my peace from the storm.

Okay, since you're SPG Plat you can book a reg room and you should get a a suite in the regular tower (with gong - am I spelling that right - I'm on my forth glass of champagne) or you can book the grand tower, which I recommend and get an amazing suite with the amazing tower lounge. But it depends on how much time you'll have; etc. The tower lounge is at my beck and call. They got me a mobile phone; the food is good enough at night (sushi; wok fried clams, squid, prawn salad, poached asparagus, chicken strips, goat cheese bruschetta, made to order pasta +++) that unless you have to go for dinner, there is no need to have dinner and the cocktail menu is quite good including (I'm reading off it now: sparkling wine, white wine, red wine and there are choices for each - margarita, pina colada, singapore sling, tom collins, tequila sunrise, saigon sunset; variety of apertifs, hennessy vsop; liqueurs;scotch; bourban and malt whisky; gin, vodkas, rums, beers, etc.)
