Hotel living is fun! Especially when you are a kid! We lived in several when I was growing up. There was one when we first moved to the US that I would save the hand towels bc I thought they were fun! When we left 6 months later and my mom was packing my stuff she got a surprise when she opened my dresser drawers! Full of hand towels, they ended up giving to them to us, I think we still have some 20 yrs later!

And then years later we lived at another hotel (best in the country at the time) for about a year. I remember the school bus would come pick me up there. I can tell you we ate really well, especially bc we became friends with the GM, the manager of the restaurant and the guy who stocked my mini bar. I think that is important, being friendly to the people that work there, bc then you get perks as well.

But not sure how fun it would be for an adult. Depends on how you look at it I suppose.

Sweet mother. After two weeks in hotels I'm ready to be home. How do you do it?

In on Sun/Mon - out on Thurs every week.

Actually, it isn't too bad, unless they put me on the same floor two weeks in a row - and I'm drunk - then I have trouble remembering which room I'm in ;)

Ah, ok. That isn't as bad as I thought. Though it would be an interesting experience to be more familiar with the hotel bed than my own.

Bad News Monday

Just found out that an interview I was supposed to have on Thursday the 11th which was canceled because of the hurricane. Well, sometime between then and now they hired an internal candidate to fill that position. :( My last day at my current job is Friday. Then, I move to Houston, job or no job.

I bought the W pillows when I was living in the W Chicago City Center for 6 months. It made a huge difference in my ability to sleep when I got home.

In other news, I was about 30 seconds from missing my flight this morning. I was happily ensconced in the EWR RCC and went to use the bathroom when I noticed that my departure time was 7:10a, not 7:35a (sked change so the email I was basing things on was wrong...whoopsie). I sprinted to the gate and the agent actually pulled a stub out of the hand of a guy who was going to get my seat.

DEN is a pretty nice airport, though the RCCs in B have managed to make sure that the free wifi doesn't work very well so you get pushed to the TMo.

And I finally got my SNA-OKC run ticketed and the voucher applied. :D

I am eating a MRE and reading FT, is that wrong?

Without power, this is the only decent thing to eat.

Any update when you are getting power back?

None. It is pointless to call CenterPoint as they are still only handling "emergencies" and do not have timeframes available.

I did call Comcast to tell them that the cable line that hangs from the box to our house had been cut. The guy on the phone said, "Oh yeah, your neighbors have reported outages too". I replied to him, "I do not think you understand, they may not have cable, but we do not have a line to our house anymore...", he still didn't get it.

No surprise there. Comcast is the worst!

Sorry to hear about your lack of power - I'm sure it is beyond frustrating at this point.
