None. It is pointless to call CenterPoint as they are still only handling "emergencies" and do not have timeframes available.
I did call Comcast to tell them that the cable line that hangs from the box to our house had been cut. The guy on the phone said, "Oh yeah, your neighbors have reported outages too". I replied to him, "I do not think you understand, they may not have cable, but we do not have a line to our house anymore...", he still didn't get it. |

(Five points for whoever gets this reference first.) "Glass? Who gives a $hit about glass; who the f!uck is this?" "This is Deputy Chief Dwayne T. Robinson, and I am in charge of this situation." Just like Alan Rickman says that he had "benefits of a classical education", the above proves that there are benefits to having been a latchkey kid and having parents who were Columbia House members. |
Politics
I hate politics. I am here in Downtown Media, PA covering the McCain/Palin propaganda event (I would call it the same for the other side). Anyone else want to trade jobs for the day? I was soured on politics when I dealt with the Florida recount while working in PBI back in 2000. That really soured me on this political system and politics in general. All the vitriol and hatred coming from both sides. Sometimes I wonder if the multi-party system that many Western European countries have would be a good thing for this country. Maybe it would force parties to work together to form a coalition government to get things done... maybe not. All I know is I am tired of covering politics in general. I wish I could pick and choose my stories... or just make 'em up.

I cannot find any information on CP.com either. |

Portions of the post that previously appeared in this space have been deleted. I would provide you with a reason why, but doing so would likely be against the TOS.

I wouldn't bother. I have found Centerpoint to be less than useful over the past week.
The zip code go-by maps/charts are hit and miss in terms of accuracy, and I somehow doubt that a "personalized" text message from Centerpoint would be any better. |
Random moment of my day...
I'm working with my iTunes shuffling away in the background and all of a sudden, I realize I am listening to a dance remix of Homer Simpson singing his Spider Pig song. Where the heck did this come from!? |
The Trip that Defies Reality
Today I am working on finishing a weekend trip to Seattle that I can say was out of the ordinary.
The weekend was great, I was spending it with my adopted brother just back from Iraq three weeks ago. We did a food and wine tour of the Seattle/Bellvue/Everett area and a day of flying musseum tours as well. Well the Weekend was great until we left the last restaurant and were headed to the airport. We had decided to eat at The Crab Pot and had a great meal and then headed back to his car. Upon coming up on the car he noticed that the back drivers window was knocked out. Upon further inspection we noticed that the only thing missing was my black computer bag that had everything in it. I mean everything (ytou know what you have iun your carry on computer bag). We call the police, she makes the report and then says this is common in this area ( Alaskian Way - under the elevated by the warf). At this point I made the calls to the three credit card companies that i needed to and then called my insurance. He droppped me at the airport and then I checked a bag and a box. I then proceeded to the President's Club to have a well deserved drink. It was at this point that I recalled that I had 16 CO drink coupons in my bag along with 2 PC passes, and 2-$100 off CO coupons. This was in addition to the computer and other electronics I travel with in addition to the fact that I lost my keys that I had in my bag for my car, my house, my mailbox, and work doors. SO I started to try to think how I was going to get home from the airport that is 75 miles from my house when I had no keys for the house or the car. I get on the plane and recall that I had some peoples credit card information on my computer (of course I remembered this in flight - during the 4 hours in the air). No sleep for me on the red eye. Once we landed at IAH I called my parents and a friends who's info I had and let them know what happened and then headed for the B Gates. I then get into OKC and upon watching the bags come around and around the bagage belt I come to the conclusion that I had lost a second bag in 12 hours. So had the bagage lady fill out the paper work. I then proceed to the parking lot to wait for the wrecker to tow my car to the dealership to get a key made so i could then drive my car home. I guess this is a good time to tell everyone that my charger was stolen and while the PC attendant in the SEA club found one and it fit my phone that by this point I had used up a lot of my phone's power. I then get a call from the wrecker and half way through explaining to him where I was my phone went dead. After an hour to get to the dealer, and hour to get a key made I finally was on my way home. At this point I started to work on getting a key to my house made and a mailbaox key made. Lock smith to be at the house at 4 pm and then I can get in and get the documents to get my mailbox key done. So that has been my last 24+ hours of no sleep and worry. If you ever are having a bad travel day, remember my horrific travel and and your day will be brighter. I will update you this evening or tomorrow as to the conclusion of my day. :) |

It's the JetBlue auto schedule change notifier. (Hmm, maybe Mike has something here...) The notifier says that my flight from FLL-JFK on 12/22 has been rescheduled. Well, ok...I AM flying on 12/22, except I'm going to FLL and not from, and I'm going from EWR on CO. More proof that people don't know their own cell phone numbers.

I find this uptick in crimes against Boxers to be rather unsettling.
I better leave work right away and take a nap. |
