I'm quite surprised to see a lack of VS UC trip reports (with pictures) on FT. What's the deal? Maybe my searching just sucks...

Well, it's been an absolutely stellar day. We woke up this morning and checked out of our hotel in PHX with the full intention of driving back to SAN today after spending time with the fiance's parents. I walked outside to load the bags in the rental car and discovered the driver's door window busted out and the new watch and some shoes we got yesterday stolen.

Having waived the ridiculous damage coverages from Enterprise, I am now likely stuck paying for a replacement window which will be installed by a dealership in Scottsdale. My auto insurance will cover it but not without me paying my $1000 deductible, so I'm hoping the MasterRental insurance from MasterCard will take care of that. Anyone have experience filing a claim through them? Sigh. :(

I was riding my bike along the Pacific coast today. A Antonov-124 took off right over my head when I was passing LAX. Those Lotarev powerplants are loud!

According to Flightaware, the plane belongs to Polet Airlines. It was going to Canadian Forces Base Trenton (YTR) in Ontario.

I am surprised by this as well. I thought for sure, there would be some great reports and lots of pictures here. I am flying VS2 on 03/03/2009 and VS17 on 03/19/2009 UC, and I will be bringing my Nikon, so be assured that once I get back I will provide a trip report and photos here on FT. I will make sure I get some shots of the UC cabin, the lounge in EWR and LHR and what ever selse I can think of. I just have to have a drink or two, because I feel self conscious when taking pictures on a plane, I feel like a loser, even though it’s something I want to do.

I am trying to decide what to use for photo hosting, I tried flickr, but didn’t like that I would need to sign up for yahoo and then flickr. I didn’t get the hang of it right away and deleted the account. For now, I am trying out photobucket and just started adding some picture in from past trips, but I really don’t like the layout of the site. I do like the grid layout though, with the black background, and the reflection the pictures give off, but that’s about it. As cheap as I am, I think I just may pay for one of the premium sites.

Morning Box...

No witty comments from me this morning. I could not sleep at all last night. I would toss and turn and think I was comfortable but would never go to sleep. :(

I'm a big fan of SmugMug, as are a couple of others here, including sbm12 and MilesDavis. It costs a little more than some of the others, but what you get for that is a highly customizable site with tons of options for changing the look and feel of your photo galleries. I've played around with a few other sites, including Flickr, but haven't found any other that is as flexible as SmugMug is. In fact, I really hate Flickr's layout and the fact that you can't quickly browse through a photoset using the keyboard. One other thing I really love about SmugMug is that I can upload photos from my computer to my SmugMug account directly from my Adobe Photoshop Organizer, which is what I use to organize, tag, and caption the thousands of photos on my hard drive. When the photos upload, they upload with the tags and captions attached, so I only have to do all that once to have everything indexed on both my computer and SmugMug. Overall I'm pretty happy with their service, and feel that the annual subscription fee I pay is well worth it for what I'm getting.

You and me both. I woke up around 4:30 this morning and then couldn't get comfortable enough to fall back asleep. I think I finally dozed off again around 6:00.

Thanks - I forgot about v-flyer.com. Someone on there has to have a good report with pictures. I am still trying to decide if burning miles on UC for BRU is a good idea... :)

Add me to the little/no sleep last night. I think I may be getting sick or something. My joints are all achy and I can't get comfortable.

Route via JFK and experience the VS Clubhouse there and the revivals lounge in LHR

While JFK is a bit of a drive for me, I have considered that just for the Clubhouse experience. From what I have read, the VS lounge at EWR is no comparison.

Is the revivals lounge at LHR available to people using miles for the CO codeshare? I read (on FT I believe) that someone with a CO-issued ticket for the codeshare was not given access.

I had my second missed EUA in less than 10 days last night. And my first missed EUA between IAH and ATL since October 2005. I wasn't even close; I was number six on the upgrade list.

However, my partner was in F. I jumped the gun, assumed I'd get the upgrade, and used miles to move him up front. He appreciated the nice seat up front, especially since he got to sit across the aisle from Lawrence Fishburne. And Y wasn't all that bad for me. I had 14F on the 735, with an empty middle seat next to me. The only downside was Y had no meal on that flight so by the time we landed in ATL around 10:15 PM, I was starving. Our flight into IAH was late arriving, and we ended up with about 20 minutes to connect from B-77 to E-24, which meant there was no opportunity to stop in Terminal E like we'd originally planned to pick up dinner. He at least got a chicken salad in F. I got a cup of water, and not even peanuts or pretzels since the Y FAs said "This is a beverage service only." Fortunately I had an unopened bag of potato chips in my computer bag leftover from lunch one day last week.
