And, yes, the co.com specials suck.

I just saw a show about the retirement of the Concord (in glorious HD to boot) and I wish that I had gotten on that bird. Such is life.

Thanks for the info baglady!

Why in the world is it so hard for me to spend miles sometimes? I think I have become too addicted to earning miles... :(

I think I am too addicted to earning miles.

I have a $50 expedia coupon that I am slightly hesitant to use because I won’t earn my precious starpoints. This stay will also make me a plat, so I don’t think I really have a choice in the matter.

I'm DVRing that as we speak. My mother was lucky enough to snag four rides on Concordes. She got JFK-LHR-JFK and JFK-BGI-JFK. On the LHR trip she met Stevie Wonder. Got the menu autographed, and it's hanging in a frame in the house.

The funny thing is that most of the pictures showing the seat in the lie-flat position have people sleeping in them! :) I was curious to see some more detailed pictures of the seat but no luck.

I posted over in the VS forum to find out if someone with a CO-coded ticket would be able to get in to the REVIVALS lounge at LHR. If I did not get access, I think it would be a deal breaker for me.

For the VS flyers among us - is there a charge for the in-flight massage services? Virgin's website is pretty bad at providing basic information about their services...

The In flight massage has been removed .
The seats are great , they are similar to AC's Exec Elite , but wider , and you can have someone sit and eat across from your seat. I mentioned AC because you can go on AC's web page and take a virtual tour of the cabin to get an idea.
The VS CH @ JFK is amazing, had mojitos and a steak before boarding my flight . The food was really great. I have not been to the LHR CH or Revivals lounge yet , but im sure its worth it. I can report about LHR in Dec when I fly LHR-JFK .

ETA: CO 1E probably has more info on VS seats and the REVIVALS Lounge

I have not flown that bird, what type is it?

I reviewed my FM and here are my interesting ones:

Top CO Aircraft - N13624 737-524 -5 Flghts (Thanks to OKC and TUL most likely)

Top Personal Aircraft - N6895C - 105 Flights (dad's plane)

Plane Now in Smithsonain - N35773 - PiperCub (I was a kid when I flew in it)

Coolest Plane so far - N144Q - DeHavilland Beaver - landed on glacier in Alaska (No pun intended)

I got both my upgrades for this Friday's flights but now need to cancel due to work requirements. I am waiting to see if the returns get upgraded tomorrow and then will cancel. Luckly these weren't transcon upgrades or anything special just OKC-IAH-SAT ones.

On another note, I am posting this AM from my new laptop from my insurance settlement (lost bag in SEA). I am still surprised that before 14 days past from the lost of my laptop that I had the money from my insurance company already in the bank and new computer bought. In fact, settlement was in the bank about 10 days after robbery. I love USAA!

good morning

I have a photo question
actually a 2 part question

1 If Im shooting with an ultra wide angle lens ( Sony 11-18mm f/4.5-5.6 DT AF ) , does it need more light , It seems like the shots come out darker

2 could the hood for the lens cause the problem

Suggestions

N73270 is a 738 (as are most of my multi-flight aircraft). There is a 753 that I have been on three times, to date (N75854).

I snagged a Ward Air DHC-Beaver on a flyfishing trip in Juneau. It was a float-plane, and dropped us off at some inlet south of Juneau. Excellent trip.

I've been playing with the iPhone SDK and it is a sweet tool. ^

However, I am at a crossroads as to how to proceed with a flight history application that I was going to work on. My focus so far has been on the web application that allows users to export data, track upgrades, and have a little more granular look at the data. The conundrum is figuring out whether to build a mobile app that is accessed via a web address or an iPhone application or both. I'd like to allow users to make a quick entry on the go and then later refine said entry, getting rid of the problem of remembering every flight.

With an iPhone app I can do things like make it location aware, so, you get on a plane, click a button "Start Trip", and it records the current location. Walking off the plane click "End Trip/Flight" and it records the ending point.

The Houston Specials aren't great this weekend, but aren't terrible. VPS has beautiful beaches, and XNA isn't too far from the Ozarks (which should have good fall foliage appearing soon).

The IAH list does look decent - thanks for rubbing it in! :p

CO was nice enough to add MEX to the list of destinations from EWR. Downside is they want $339+.
