Does anyone have suggestions for a cheap same day turn on CO from EWR or ABE? My mother is going to be ~300 miles short of Silver this year and I'm encouraging her to go on a run...

I found EWR-CLT for $59 each way again on Nov 1

You can both check in whenever you want. Your companion needs to be added at the airport no more than 3 hours before the flight. Companions are ordered by the time they were added to the list (and of course by the elite's level).

Your companion may be added to the upgrade list for any segments that y'all share.

Yes and yes. Just take both BPs up to the counter and ask for them to ad her to the list. It just matters that you are both on that same segment, not that you are on the same res/identical itin. I actually got a coworker an upgrade without them even being at the airport by asking nicely at the PC. When he got to the gate they surprised him with the new BP. I won a lot of points for that one.

I am still slightly hesitant to use Deluxe Rent-A-Car of LAX. I feel as if they might be some fly by night company, but I do not know anything about them. Is it worth it to rent from them and save about $130? My entire rental will come to about $72 all in. I reserved a Toyota Corolla, which they advertise as getting 37 mpg’s. At 6’5”, I am not sure that is such a good idea though.

The Corolla will probably be fine, but it is likely to be an older model than you'd get from a chain agency. And it will certainly NOT get 37mpg. Also plan on taking more time to do paperwork and get to/from the airport just 'cause and getting the hard sell on the insurance add-ons.

Morning' box.

I've been on a box-hiatus so MIA.

CM, congrats on the walking! Do I remember correctly that you took the TESC route?

I flew through T5 this weekend. Really gorgeous building and I was disturbed as to how much stuff was open on a Sunday at 6am.

I've decided I don't drink enough. Work has been a drag and i've been a cranky ......., i figure drinking will help take the edge off. :D (I figured this was the best place to mention it and not get any opposition.)

I figured i will need a little extra time there. Their web site advertised a "2009 Corolla L or similar" so we will see, but I figured with CA gas prices, this would be the best option.

You are welcomed sdm1130

I only found out because I was thinking of taking the S/O on the run with me, but my flight is no longer $59, it's now $116, so there goes that idea.

Although your joke kind of transcends the Simpsons, as I think it's been uttered by every pervy man since the dawn of time.

ha ha yeah , I just left you a present over in

For our NYC residents looking for a way to get to YYZ without hopping on an ERJ or Q400, you can now sample a LA 763 on JFK-YYZ. Details Here.

What, exactly, is CO*? And what did I do to get it?

I believe that is the desgination used by CO Infinite Plats, those who were given that status a few years ago before the million miler program was rolled out. As such, I don't think it is possible to get it anymore.

Edit: Corrected below, I was mistaken.

I already have it (a friend at CO told me my account is tagged with it). I just didn't know what it really was.

Incorrect. It's an internal program to identify high-revenue passengers. Doesn't get you anything officially. However, from what i understand, it helps determine things like which flights will be held for connections and little things behind the scenes.

It means you spend too much money with CO. :D

It's a designation placed in the records of persons who contribute the most to CO's bottom line. IIRC, the list of CO*s is updated quarterly. AFAIK, there are no tangible, published benefits to being a CO*. A GA or FA might be exceptionally courteous to you if they see CO* on the manifest. However, It's simply a label that assists CO with revenue monitoring.

Well - I did buy some stuff from the CO store :) (I've also been told if one more box of CO stuff shows up.. I can use the box to pack my stuff) :) j/k

I stand somewhere on the order of thrice corrected. ;) My recollection of previous threads was in error.
