So AF at one point did fly LAX-LHR? Mommy the travel professional didn't believe me.

CM, sorry to hear the news.

To compete with AF, perhaps?? Apparently AF is going to only fly JFK-LHR for a while instead of LAX-LHR. Supposedly only for the winter, but who knows.
Plus, with DL giving up on their LAX mini-hub and having no feed traffic, even less traffic to connect into it.

It still befuddles me as to why AF continues to choose such over-saturated markets for their attempts at LHR service. I don't think the LAX-LHR service did too well, particularly with 2xBA, 2xVS, 1xUA, 1xAA and 1xNZ flight to compete against.

I don't think (could be wrong, but) that the LAX-LHR segment can be booked by itself on NZ for US-originating pax. It's thru service from AKL, or least it looked that way on SABRE.

I think you're confusing that with the LAX - JFK QF flights. NZ is bookable.

I duly stand corrected. I know nothing of West Coast travel-related anything except that I love SNA. I took a semi-educated guess because the SABRE display looked different than the rest.

The box is not the place to get help, we'll just encourage you (to jump off the Ben Franklin Bridge - ;) ). Isn't the ATL-PHL segment on an RJ? I thought US flew EMB 175s or 190s on this route. If 190, then ^. If not, then :td:. Though, US 175s aren't that bad, as I have experienced on the PHL-IAH route.

I do not know about Deluxe, however I did try Fox Rent-A-Car once. This was in PHX. The biggest problem with them was that I waited over 1 hour for the pick-up van to come and get me. If I had known where their office was, I would have taken a cab. Furthermore, the little companies are pains because they make you get your fill up within 1 mile of the office and prove it, and have a ton of paperwork which takes forever to fill out. Finally if you ever break down, watch out.
I figured it was worth the extra $5-$10 to just go with a national company. I think I am going to give them a shot. I found a 15% off coupon if I show them my National loyalty card. |
I used FOX at LAX last time and they're no worse than the big guys I've used here in terms of shuttle and lines. I've waited in long lines at Hertz and Avis as well.
They did "upgrade" me from an economy to a Jeep Commander. Horrible gas mileage, but I used that opportunity to get some furniture. And I have gotten "forced upgrade" at the big companies at various locations as well. So, oversall, FOX here is no different from the other companies. |

I was booking 3 tix IAH-TYS about a month out and the tix were over $500!!!!! CRAZY - and it was a U fare. Decided we'd fly into BNA and enjoy the scenic drive for over a $900 savings between the 3 tix :)
