That's a long time to be engaged. And from what I have seen, the wedding planning will continue to happen, regardless of whether the wedding is next week or in 2.5 years, so you're in for a long haul on that part. Good luck. |

Yes. I'm having difficulty deciding at this point whether it is merely "planning," or undiagnosed OCD.

I have a photo question actually a 2 part question 1 If Im shooting with an ultra wide angle lens ( Sony 11-18mm f/4.5-5.6 DT AF ) , does it need more light , It seems like the shots come out darker 2 could the hood for the lens cause the problem Suggestions You can do an experiment and use manual mode with two lens with the same exposure, shooting the same scene. They should come out the same, or very very close to the same. 2. Hood has nothing to do with it, and you should be using Sony's specific hood for this lens. If you use the wrong hood, it can cause vignetting, but it's easily visible in the picture as darker corners. But again, that has nothing to do with the pictures coming out dark. |

1. No, it doesn't need more light, but in many shots, you may get quite a bit of the sky and that fools the metering of the camera. It will also depend on the metering mode you use on your dSLR - if you use matrix metering, it'll depend on the program of the camera. I use centerweight, as I hate to playing guessing game with Canon, and when I use an ultrawide outdoors, I usually dial in +2/3 stop compensation because of the sky. [Or I can meter with pointing the lens further down to get less of sky and then recompose.] When indoors, not necessary.

I will have to run some tests and see if it helps. as far as the hood , its a rose pedal style hood that came with the lens so i did not think that was really a problem . |

Normally I wouldn't advise traveling to ROC
Better get there now before the snow pack sets in. Which should happen any minute now. |

As an ex-Rochesterian (could only hack it for about 8 months and then I gave up and moved elsewhere. Am still thawing out from that little experiment) I concur. Although you left out a visit to Wegmans.

Why do I bother showing up to work in Louisiana?
I should be getting combat pay for this project. |

Obtaining ACARS logs to determine tail numbers of international flights looks like more trouble than it's worth. I take it there's not a central clearinghouse type website for such logs?

I just started noting ship numbers in my flight history, because I often wondered if I had flown on the same plane more than once.

+1 - expensive sushi and sandwiches, but really good all around. A guy I've known since I was little runs a Wegmans deli section in northern NJ, but I can't remember where. He may have also transferred to Cherry Hill by now.
And congrats on setting your wedding date. Mine is set for October 3, 2009, up in New Hampshire - during peak fall foliage. |
