Here's the obligatory Page 787 nuts reference. The Box is being held together much better than the aircraft. LOL.

Is there going to be a delay and a strike in the box

Why is AA pricing LGA-DFW-IAH/HOU for $125 less than CO's LGA-IAH? Also, why are CO's one way direct flights so freakin expensive (specifically IAH-LGA). I am about ready to book my r/t to go home for my wedding (next June) and also need to book a o/w to get the new wife up here after the wedding but CO is making this physically and financially impossible for us to be on the same flight the day after our wedding. Looks like ill be sending AA more money next year:td::mad: and am wondering if I will even requalify for Gold in 2009 :rolleyes:

Total costs to fly together:

CO = 2 RT ~ $800 (and just burn the return for the new wife)
AA = 1 RT ~ $275 + 1 OW ~ $138 = $413

Rant Over:rolleyes:

Because AA makes you fly via DFW and that is less convenient and takes longer. So most business folk won't do it. So CO gets more money from them and doesn't care about people on a budget. Not a bad gig, really.

I'm not taking CO's side or anything, but I could totally envision someone paying a price penalty for O/W-ing from the big hub.

I understand the importance of direct flights for business people but historically or since Ive started watching these routes CO has always had the most competitive pricing with the exception of DL have a flight for a few dollars less, but that is rare. Could this possibly be a mistake fare for AA or do you really think they are trying to gain market share by temporarily lowering the price?

Wow, really? No joke? Every time I have shopped DL for the same airports and dates vs. CO for my personal needs, the DL itinerary has been as high as 4x what CO was asking.

ETA: Upon further thinking, the 4x higher that I was thinking of was a sLUT fare, as if insult need be added to injury.

Got back from my last mr of the year and got the once over from CBP in IAH. Apparently, none of the four offers that interrogated me has ever heard of a mileage run. After tearing my carry on bag apart and typing god knows what into my file, they finally let me go. I was that jackass running though IAH trying to get to C-40 before they close the aircraft door. I Made it on with 5 minutes to spare. I guess next year, I will just try to stick to a domestic mileage run if I need one.

I can finally go to bed now - stayed up reading the new Stuart Woods book. The guy publishes about twice a year, and when they come out I go right out, pick up the hardcover, and I'm done with it about 4 hours of net reading time later. Woods is pretty much the only fiction I read, and his Stone Barrington character rules.

Day one I get mugged. I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later. That being said, eventhough he had a piece of glass all he got was an *kicking, and a night in jail.

Don´t mess with a flyertalker, we´ve got game.

EDIT: Answering my own question... "Tempelhof Airport is due to close on October 31, 2008."

Over the past few months they had a fare or two NYC-IAH for $375 a/i while CO has held steady at $400+ a/i. I havent seen it in the past few weeks but I wouldnt consider it unless it was sub $300 due to the lack of EUA's.
