What about 4-Points?

They're non-existent too in many places I frequently travel for work.

The one time I ever flew the DC-10 was on IAH-LAX on a Saturday in early September 2001, about a month before they were quickly retired.

I took numerous flights on the DC-10s between LAX-HNL. They were quite the pleasure and it was sad to see them go.

I really enjoyed my only DC-10 flight. I was still a pretty recently minted Silver Elite, and it was the first time I had an upgrade to a BusinessFirst seat. It was a great flight, and I was quite glad a week or two later when CO announced the immediate retirement of the type that I had taken that flight.

I was also supposed to have a DC-10 in 1999 on MCO-IAH. However, that aircraft was operating IAH-LAX-IAH-MCO-IAH that day, and due to storms at IAH, was running a couple of hours behind schedule. There was an earlier 727 MCO-IAH flight that was also running late so it was now departing MCO around the time our flight should have. It still had a few seats available, so the gate agent put my family on it. I missed what would have been my first DC-10 flight for what became my last CO 727 flight. At the time I wasn't very happy about that though, as I'd just flown a CO 727 a few days earlier, and I really wanted to get on the DC-10.

I miss the DC10s and 727s on CO and NW - nothing quite like the old school powerhouses. Remember the days of NW using the 10s on the high volume domestic routes?! Unfortunately I never got a chance to fly the 747s or 300s before they left the fleet, but have been on everything else since that time (except the 739ER).

DC-10? Sure, as long as you don't get a middle middle-seat on a NW one. My worst experience on a plane was exactly that, flying BOS-MSP some years ago.

I still want/need to get on a MD-11 for my flightmemory.

I am looking to do so as well and should be able to find away this year on one of my commutes to Europe.

My last DC 10 experience was EWR-AMS , I was flying to MAD , and they asked for volunteers to be re routed, this was before FT and I can't remember If I was even elite or not , but I said yes they re routed me EWR-AMS-MAD
with a 1 night stop over in AMS that I requested and a 500 voucher .
I was also upgraded to BF , the only downside was my bag went on the Nonstop to MAD and I had no clothes for 1 day , but It was fun .

I got a DC-10 and an MD-11 on each of my deployments overseas...World Airways brought us over and back to Saudi in 2002, and Omni to/from Qatar in 2004. I also had a World MD-11 do the JFK-ATH and IST-JFK lines on my FM. That was charter air for a Greece and Turkey cruise. I'm missing an A321 and I refuse to fly US to get one. I still, surprisingly, do not have a 767 or 777. All of my overseas trip were on either 744's, DC's or MD's...and according to my mother, we did a CO 757 to ORY.

AHHH, I've got a mountain of work to plow through today and before I do any of it, a quick stop in the box. :D

I got my MD11 checkmark on my first TA trip (in J of course) on LH when I was, I think, 12.

I'm actually staying at the Hard Rock on that rip as well. Looks like we're doing the W for 2 nights, Sheraton La Jolla for 2 nights then the Canuck leaves and I'm at the Hard Rock for work (not. my. choice.) for 3 nights. It's not a mattress run, it's a "well let's stay downtown for a couple nights and then let's stay out by the beach and relax for a couple nights." ;)

Canuck loved the idea.

Is this the trip you were trying to use the Chase Voucher for ?

My office is about half a mile down the street. I'll be sure to think unkind things about you lounging around while I'm slaving away. ;)

But it's still going to be a few years before they're really everywhere, and even looking at the list of future locations makes it evident Starwood still won't have any presence in many of the markets we do business in. And I'm not just talking about small towns here — there are a lot of places with a population of over 75,000, and in many cases a population of over 150,000, that Starwood has no presence. Yet it's often not hard to find a Marriott or Hilton property in a town with a population well below 10,000, and you're almost guaranteed to find at least one of those, if not both, in communities with a population over 10,000-15,000.

Don't get me wrong — I think SPG is a great program, and Starwood has some really amazing properties. They just don't have enough of them, in enough locations, at enough price points yet. But hopefully with time they'll get there, and as they grow, not dilute the SPG program too much.

Little Rock is an example of this.

You can pick up a 321 on AF.
