If so, PM me please.

Unfortunately the only one I know is in Georgia. I know a lot of attorneys in Houston, but none in real estate.

It's refundable and would get me very close to renewing my UA Premier status. And despite several US segments, it's all in F, it books into A class so there's a lot of bonus RDMs and EQMs, and I'd get to fly my first A-321.

Price is in the low $400s.

Do it.

+1 $400 for a seat in F and a step towards renewing status sounds like a good deal to me (even on US).

I'm familiar with that UA IAH-ATL Q-UP fare (at least, with the roundtrip version for ~$780). I played around with it in multi-city the other day and got it to price ATL-IAD-ORD-IAH. Would that not work out for you mileage-wise (thus meaning you could avoid US)?

Yes it works with that. But for $2.00 more I can do ATL-CLT-PHL-ORD-IAH, and get more miles, plus the A-321 on CLT-PHL. And it is F on US, so I'm sure it would be at least tolerable. At the very least it would make me appreciate my CO Platinum status even more.

Suit yourself. I'm glad I bagged an A321 years ago on LHR-EDI with BD, because I would likely be contemplating a US run if I hadn't.

Next, does your rental agreement have any provisions pertaining to casualty losses and the reduction of rentals?

If not, or if your rental agreement is a standard Texas leasing form, how does your landlord calculate the $100 amount? How is that proportionate to the extent that the premises are unusable because of the casualty?

Are you having issues with the "but only on judgment of a county or district court" clause in Section 92.054(c)?

The damage is roof and interior damage due to water and the garage was totaled by the storm, I assume that this is insured as the landlord has told me he is waiting on an adjuster.

The rental agreement is the standard Texas lease and there are no provisions for casualty loss or reduction of rental. He came up with $100 for the lack of a washer and dryer because he claims he cannot fix the roof and interior damage until the adjuster comes out.

We are worried about mold and being unable to use the kitchen for an extended amount of time.

Yes, my issue is with that section of the subsection. I feel as though I am being a good tenant by discussing this with the landlord, because my understanding is that I could have just sent a certified letter stating that we expect a reduction.

Well, considering I'll likely requalify my status based on segments, not EQMs, the extra flight gets me that much closer. This itinerary would leave me only 4 segments away from requlifying, which I could pick up on a trip back to Texas in December for Christmas. I might even consider the same fare, but maybe with a different routing all on UA, for that one.

Ideally if I could get that with a connection on the ORD-IAH I'd do it. I've got all day to make this trip, and I only need a one way ticket since I'll be working in Louisiana the following week, so I'll likely just hang out in the Houston area for a few days (Micro-Do anyone? :p) and then fly over to BTR Monday evening after Thanksgiving for work.

Let me get in touch with my liver's executive assistant and see if he's free that week.

Random rant of the day: Why have people, for the last few days anyway, been so keen to spell obvious words for me? Part of this job is selling gift cards () and when I asked for a recipient's first name, I really had someone say "Frank, that's F-R-A-N-K." Thanks, I had no idea. Someone was also kind enough to spell "us". Yup, us.

Do I have a sign on my forehead that says "Incapable of dealing with the English language"? I'm 6'3" and blond - if I speak anything other than English, it's probably f-ing Swedish.

Serious question - do you want to get home in time for Thanksgiving?

I've spent 2 Thanksgivings in US hub city airports. I highly recommend the CLT Hilton, they were very accommodating to stranded travelers and made the most of a really bad situation for a handful of us.

In other, gloating, news - I just picked-up a pretty kick arse client for my freelance business. The same business that I'm never really officially in, but I always seem to be in, and every time I think is dead, something like this comes a long.

And the likelihood I'll have to take this guy to court to actually pay me is pretty low (the curse of the freelance world).

UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

Yep, I do believe that is a new person BSoD sighting. Now if only it weren't generated by the hard drive of my main work laptop causing me to spend all day working on it instead of what I should be doing. It's been an absolutely stellar day.:rolleyes::mad:

Crap. I'm now number 3 on the upgrade list for tomorrow's flight, and F is now showing 18 of 20 seats booked. I've watched myself go from number 1 to number 3 on the list, and the number of unbooked F seats go from 2 to 3 to 4 and now back to 2.

Somebody needs to cancel or misconnect so I can get my d@mn upgrade!

Enough ranting. I'm going downstairs to take advantage of the free booze thanks to the Embassy Suites.
