Those are great! Makes me want to try them out. Too bad they don't fly anywhere I need to go right now.

I have a "colleague", to use the term loosely...19 years old, very wet behind the ears. He sends emails to a person on property who he thinks is me because he can't spell my last name. The person he's really sending them to is the Senior Sales Manager. I wonder how long I should let this go on for, as I'm sure there will be an embarrassing and funny payoff w/r/t my silence and his stupidity at some point.

I wouldn't hold my breath. With a whopping 12 seats on 737-700s, that may be the hardest transcon upgrade to get. My understanding from talking to a station manager a few years ago, it's very heavy F and full-y market and they generally need less than 40% to break even. But i'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Yep, 15 days.

Now to see if we can get the cable back...

We are actually terminating our lease with the landlord due to his being offended by my request for a reduction of rent of $200 / month until the house is completely habitable again.

Good luck. If I was in Houston already, I'd offer you a place to crash. You did say you were interested in Midtown, right?

SFOGATE, how was your son's football game?

They WON! Finally. 18-7. My son played the entire offensive time but the quarterback didn't throw the ball to him once and he was in the endzone twice waiting for the ball. Oh well, there are several more games to play and his chance will come, I hope. :)

This weekend was a soccer tourney for him. The team did poorly, lost two game and tied the third one. Atleast we didn't have to sit around today (Sunday) and wait for the playoffs. It was very hot and no shade at this field.

We like Midtown and are down there from time to time but we really enjoy being in the Heights.

Your hospitality is much appreciated though! We'll have to grab a drink when you settle in down here.

Glad to hear it. Hope he makes a touchdown on the next game. ^

Do Stag's Leap or Grgich Hills do tours?

CM-

You need to talk with a F&B Manager or a wine sommilier on your property and see if they can set up tours via their distributor for you. The industry tours are great ;). I have done several in California and never disappointed.

I never did think of that, Scott - thanks! ^^ How that went over my head I just don't know. I don't know when Napa will be in the cards, but as long as I stay in the hotel biz I imagine I'll always be one degree away from a wine person. Now I have to get around to finding a reason to drink more of it than I do...I probably touch about two bottles a year. Never been my preferred method of alcohol enjoyment.

Good morning Box!!!

I fell asleep at 830pm last night. Thank goodness for TiVo, so I can catch-up on Family Guy. Reviews around the water cooler have been rather tepid though.

Why did I fall asleep at 830 last night? A combination of factors:
  • We were invaded by Canucks this weekend. Blondie's family came down to celebrate her father's birthday in our neck of the woods. So I was running around playing host on what was possibly the most miserable [weather] weekend of the fall to date.
  • jrzyshawn: do dispatchers get some sort of sick amusement out of setting pagers off "in error" at 3am? And then 330. and then 415?
  • Note to anyone in the box. If you ever find yourself homeless, don't eat out of White Castle trashcans. The violent bouts of vomiting (at 5am ) will only leave you worse off. Remember this simple rule, Taco Bell or higher.
  • The Redskins. That's all I'm fixin to say about that... !

CM, we went to the Devils / Rangers game on Saturday (what else was I to do with a house full of Canadians ) and the Devils were looking pretty good. Or, the Rangers looked that bad.

I missed it as well so I can't comment

Was reading and found the other reason for the gasoline shortage in and around Atlanta, 45 counties there require a special type of fuel due to sulfur restrictions.

Is there a way to expedite fattening up your passport (extra page inserts). I kept putting this off, I'm out of space, and it looks like I'll be going to Europe at the end of Oct.

Is it even absolutely necessary (they always give me grief coming back into the US 'cause I'm out of space)?

Anyone know how long it takes?

I had to do this to my passport , and I used this service in NYC It looks like the prices went up .
You can also go to the passport agency on Hudson street by making an appointment and providing proof that you are travelling within 14 days , they will expedite for a fee.
