I am in the same boat with flights to/from PBI, FLL and LAX. It bugs me that I and not able to find some more accurate records.

I was much the same way but I figured that I didn't know about FlightMemory back then so I couldn't hold myself responsible for remembering specific seats and whatnot. Moving forward, though, I always capture that relevant information because I am a tremendous nerd.

rolov, I checked out that site (thanks) and didn't see anything about page inserts. I'll probably just head down to the passport office in NY. I'm sure I can find a way to bill it back to the company. :o

You may want to call the Passport Agency first , its by appointment only and only takes requests if you are travelling within 14 days .

[*]jrzyshawn: do dispatchers get some sort of sick amusement out of setting pagers off "in error" at 3am? And then 330. and then 415?

It was probably me. I have abnormally large hands and fingers. I can actually palm a basketball.

At work, we use an Orbacom touch screen dispatch panel which is very sensitive and combined with my abnormally large hands/fingers and clumsiness, it is easy to set off the wrong pagers. Our display at work is grouped together very tightly, and there are time I will mean to activate 301, but I inadvertently drag my hand across the screen and activate eight other units. Then I have to say set off in error, like a jackass. On the other hand, sometimes there are just people you really do not like on the trucks and you want to make sure they do not get any sleep because they are just total jackasses. The touch screen panel is not my friend. I much rather prefer the “old” style dispatch console, the ones that are not ergonomically designed, and do not have touch screens, rather the push buttons, that must be depressed rather hard to set off a tone. Those are much better for me.

HA! Great way to win friends I'm sure.

I actually think it was a P.O. friend who was picking up OT doing dispatch and wanted me to share in their misery.

Here's a fun dispatch game. Whenever I get in a "verbal disagreement" with my SBH and want to cheese her I assume the role of dispatch. Every time she says something to me I just tell her the time.

"Why didn't you take out the trash?"
"At 19:04."

There's absolutely no comeback to that. :D

I'd at least consider it. I'm lamenting my lack of travel for work these days (went from ~50% to ~0%), but much happier with the job overall. The fact that I'm sitting on my couch right now "working" certainly helps the situation for me.

If the job is right the lack of travel won't be nearly as big a deal as the other good that you realize from it. Plus, you can build the role to require more travel if you're really, really good. :p

The fiancee and the mom need to learn this game.

It's much less snarky if they're familiar with emergency dispatching.

Although knowing my mother, I would dispute the no-comeback thing once she knows the rules of the game:

Her: "Did you make the coffee like I asked you to?"
Me: "At 23:54."
Her: "What say you get off your ... and have it made by 23:55?"
Me:

Ouch. I have no idea what I really own in my 401(k) and I don't want to know. I'm sure it is bad, but I'm happier living without knowing right now. It does make me a bit more comfortable with my large cash savings position because I was too lazy to set up a brokerage account.

Nice to meet you Steve Jobs.

In other news, I just logged into my portfolio and got a taste in the back of my mouth like I had been dumpster diving at White Castle at 5am.

Or, perhaps, it was the inevitability that I will only be able to afford White Castle for the next year. This suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks.

Beyond AAPL, my entire stock portfolio is suffering. Fortunately, most of my money has just been in cash over the past several months so I will make it through in decent shape. But, I agree that this does suck.

While I actually don't mind White Castle (1-2 times a year at most), I certainly don't want to eat there every day next year. :)

I told BL JR to get out her golf clubs and keep practicing because her college fund is in the toilet. She just looked at me (she's almost 5, why can't she grasp this concept?) and I guess retirement is looking to be something I'll enjoy at about 80 or 85. I know, I know, it will bounce back. I've stopped opening my statements and look at nothing online. It's too depressing. I am truly having an awful Monday.

I've only done mine when I'm out of the country and my passport is full. I've been able to get it done same day at the US embassy in the country I'm traveling. I don't remember the cost.
