wow, where is everyone today? The box is quiet

AMF in NJ Sep 7, 2008 12:39 pm

It's quiet because no one is "working." :p

I can't remember the last time I saw a CO commercial on TV, but I've seen a few during the US open the last couple of days.

I wonder if what I'm doing now could be called work...peoplewatching and giving directions.

I think we are an official sponser of this event.

Opening day of the NFL. Of course I have been let down by my team - again. :(

Random rumination for today: with the OP devaluation for 2009, ZFV becomes a better opportunity than PHL in more cases. 500 at 50% for Amtrak = 250 EQM. PHL-EWR on the Q200: less than 100 EQM...83, isn't it? And despite my comments in the other thread, I found a ZFV fare that would work for me that is cheaper than PHL. I was researching BHM for the golf again. I want to go rather badly, but debt service so as to get married is probably the safer play.

Maybe you forgot about the real opening day on Thursday when the Giants knocked over a Redskins team that looked like it wished it were somewhere else. It does not figure to be that easy for the rest of the season.

I sold one of the two Sopranos prints, and the proposal page is finished, save for Seth giving it one last look after he flies home. What was a mediocre day turned out to be saved by an above average night.

^ to this weekend. Cheesesteaks with FTers, a wonderful stay at the new aloft at PHL, driving from PHL to IAD in the middle of a tropical storm, visiting the Udvar-Hazy Center (an aviation enthusiast's dream!) and driving/walking around DC.

I'm exhausted! Now, just 3 more days until YVR! :)

There is a piece of aviation history on eBay that I am seriously considering buying...I've wanted one of them for several years now, and even though some would consider it obscure: a print of an SR-71 in burner that was limited to 972 copies. It was Blackbird #972 that set a transcon speed record en route to its enshrinement at the Smithsonian. The best part? The limited run of 972 includes the flight crew's signatures.

No. I knew about that game. But, to me, one game does not make a Sunday (unless it is Super Bowl Sunday). Usually there's a concert before the Thursday night kickoff game. I didn't see it this year. Was there one? Or was the concert canceled because of the RNC?

The concert was earlier in the day in NYC .

I'm in HKG in the desserted UA F lounge. One other person and I. Delayed flight - surprise; surprise. Had probably the surliest Flight coordinator or whatever they are called EWR-HKG. The rest of the crew was fine except the mid flight crew. When I wanted my drink refilled; they would just hand it to me over the rope (I was in 1D) which I think lacks service. But I'm tired and testy now. ;)

I was going to bring MR BLs camera and he needed it for meetings Fri - I thought he had given it to me - I have the charger; no camera. So I just bought one in the HK airport. It's a cool new Samsung but 1) I didn't need it and 2) it was overpriced - c'est la vie.
