I plan to buy my tix in two weeks. No doubt CO will drop the fares by $100 exactly 24:01 after I purchase.

I just spoke to someone from Starwood in person about the hotels in BRU and I think Im switching to the Sheraton instead of 4P

I've lost all hope on the prices dropping. Instead, I'm adding a USH segment and burning a cert. I'll buy in the next few weeks and redeposit my VS reward...

Is the 4P that bad? Should I consider splitting my stays between the Sheraton and Le Meridien, then?

I'm sticking to the Brussels Marriott as it seems to have the most central location.

Also found out that the Westin Trianon Palace Versailles will be leaving SPG. Second French SPG property I was planning a honeymoon stay at that has bailed. :td:

Based on spg.com pictures alone, I'd stick with the Le Meridien or the Sheraton.

Is SPG Gold worth much? I just did a quick count of SPG nights already scheduled for next year and I'm at 12. If I switch most of my Marriott business over to SPG, I could make it to 10 stays or 25 nights.

Is it correct to assume that SPG Gold is just about as useless as Marriott Silver?

Don't know. I just earned it on Monday night. I'll have my first stay as a Gold next week. The 50% increase in base points earnings is helpful, though.

I saw today on FoxSports.com that it could be Texas vs. Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl. I messaged my partner and said "Fiesta Bowl?"

The response was "Sure. Except someone booked a trip to Houston for some event." Guess I'll have to explain that we can do more than one fun thing a year that involves flying.

The Fiesta Bowl is January 5th. Isn't the event Feb. 5?

Haha. Sounds like a conversation we had by text message between me standing at IAH Terminal B waiting to board my flight to BTR Monday evening and my partner in his hotel room in Paris. It wasn't concerning the Do, but spending a weekend in Dallas at the end of my work trip there next week.
