That is the plan
a DO within the DO
or meet between the meet
whatever works for you
end result will be drinking

I've been reading about the new Scott Tycer (same chef who started Gravitas and Aries) restaurant in Houston called "Textile". Has some interesting appeal to it, I mean, veal sweetbreads, you can't beat that.

Work announced that they are giving us the day after Christmas off, wish I would have known sooner, I would have planned something. And of course this comes after the day where I request a name change on my wife's OP account. Now, if they are fast there is no way we can get a new passport in time...

Edited to add: some of the winter specials are sill available... IAH-LHR ~$1800 in BF. IAH-CPH ~$1600

Actually there is. If you have the ticket booked, the Houston passport office will allow you to make an appointment to come in and get a new passport made on the spot within a couple of hours. You do have to have evidence of immediate travel, within approximately 2-3 weeks. But it is possible to get it done.

You can also use an Expediter service like Passport Express. I used them for Renewal, as well as Brazilian and Russian visas, and they were extremely quick and professional.

Thanks for the info guys! ^

If I end up booking the tickets today they will be booked in her maiden name, for which she already has a passport, so I guess we'll see how the day turns out.

Along the same lines, if I book a ticket to Europe in BF and there is an extremely long layover in EWR, can we go into the city and catch a UH flight back? I would just leave our bags in the PC.

Speaking of that, a couple weeks ago I asked i here about doing page inserts in passports. Just to follow up on that -

I mailed mine in to the passport center in PHL last week and received it yesterday priority mail. Including transit, it took exactly one week. And, I didn't pay for the expedited service.

:-: Way too good for government work. :-:

Morning, Box! :D

The fiancee finally got me back on a normal sleep pattern. I was sleeping from 2-4am to 10am-noon for almost a week. I got really good at finding out what was on really late night TV.

Absolutely, assuming you have the time. It can be a fun way to spend some time in NYC. Check out this thread in the NYC forum for some discussion of the transit times/options, as well as about how a couple tried to schedule a wedding on their layover back in July. It was a very nice wedding; I signed as the witness. :D

Good day to you, sir. I think in the middle of everything else today, I might need to investigate if my kind of space has opened up on any flights for the Thing. Today is the first legitimately busy day of my unemployment...stopping by my old magazine's offices to pick up copies of issues that I had articles in and a recommendation letter, going to see an former professor, and a Rotary thing at night.

We'd have around 8 hours so I think that's plenty.

I'm guessing the helicopter flight wouldn't be free, even though we're on a BF itinerary?

For those looking for a native flight tracking app for the iPhone: http://www.tuaw.com/2008/11/20/first...light-tracker/

It's basically a map with the plane's location and weather.

You should be able to snag one way as part of the flight, but both would be tough.
