It is worth it to sign up?

My old company had it and it was OK. You only get credit on higher fares and the rewards book into inventory that is pretty tough for coach (X/L, I think) but into reasonably normal fares for BF/F. Come to think of it, if there are a few unaffiliated folks who want to go in together on a RewardOne account I'll be happy to organize one. You're supposed to have 5 "employees" to start, I believe. I'm still affiliated with my old company and would be really happy to no longer allow them to take credit for my travel.

This may be a stupid question, but does anyone know why there is a plus sigh (+) next to CO Insider + under the Currently Active Users section?

It means that they are on your "friends" list in FlyerTalk.

Now that you mention it, I suspect I'm still on my old employer's RewardOne account, a full four years after I was laid off by them. I should probably call CO about that, and get off their account if I'm still on it. I didn't like those poeple when I worked for them, and I certainly don't want them still taking advantage of my current job's frequent business travel by racking up tons of RewardOne points for their own use.

I really need to go to bed early tonight. I haven't been getting enough sleep lately, and work this week has been stressful. I think it's catching up with me. I feel like crap tonight.

In early discussions with the gentleman, he has shown willingness to throw some extra details in at no extra cost. Now that we have officially decided on this location/caterer I'm wondering if I can push a little harder to negotiate. We aren't on a super tight budget or anything, so the prices he has quoted are fine but I'm just curious to know if anything more can be done. I'm always up for a good negotiation. :D

Thoughts? Experiences?

I have taught and been around the catering business since I was 16 and there are a lot to thing about. Some thoughts that come to my head are the following:

1. Know the costs of any extras (ie extra people, a charge for extra hours of the reception going, etc) This makes sure that if there are any changes the night of the reception that you know upfront what these charges might be.

2. I would try to make sure there is some loose schedule of the evening set-up so that every thing goes according to the way you want. (timing of the toast, the course, etc)

3. Making sure to have in writing who is responsible for what. If yall are going to get the flowers make sure that is known, if the caterer is arranging for the cake making sure that is in writing. Having all this laid out makes sure that the night of the event goes off without a hitch and as you want.

Those are some simple things. If you have specific questions let me know.

It all depends on the place , I know my friend was able to get a premium vodka bar for the cocktail hour.
Another one got the place to throw in an after wedding party with cigars ,port wines , and all sorts of after dinner drinks

I was happy when they agreed to do per person pricing rather than per bottle or even worse, per drink.

You and me both. I think there was a time today that my head came off and spun around the room. Can I start my Thanksgiving break a full week early?

My cousin from Oz will be here next Wed. and gets to has his first Thanksgiving (I think; maybe he was here once before but I doubt he remembers it). I'm sure the Marriott will be good enough for him; better than my cooking at least!

Three conference calls  tomorrow but better than three in house meetings :)

Faxed my NWA status match request this morning from the CLE PC. :p

LAS question. Are the spokes in Terminal D connected airside or does each spoke have their own security like EWR Term A? Meeting someone arriving on a different airline shortly after my flight from EWR gets there but they are in a different spoke.

They're all connected. Security is actually done in the main terminal building, and then you ride over to Concourse D on a tram.

I have an account that I've had for years and like it. I've only used one reward and that was to grant my ex Silver status. But the rewards are ok and when you factor in that it's free, you have nothing to lose.

With the new job and new baby, I've missed lots of pages. Is there going to be a Box Meet at the CO Meet IV? Is there a planner for the event? I may not be able to go to any of the afternoon stuff, but may be able to go to a drinking establishment after work.
