Texas actually has excellent beer and wines. Houston has an excellent brewery (St. Arnold's), and there are a number of good ones in the Hill Country. Texas Reds are (IMO) similar to the Cretan Table Wines I drank by the carafe-load in Greece. Perfect light reds for drinking outdoors in warm weather. Texas wineries also make very good Rieslings and Gewürztraminers.

We do, indeed, have both of those. :p

And I can't see any way that NYC is dreary and soulless. Quiet and cold at 6am, perhaps, and occasionally dreary with winter weather, but rarely would I ever describe the city as soulless.

NYC is one of the last cities that I would describe as soulless.

Is one USH route to EWR "better" than the other? JRB would be a little easier for me to get to, but TSS would work as well if it offers a better experience.

This city is soulless ;)

ZING!

ZING!

I dated one. She was French. A combination ripe for weirdness. She wasn't even properly French, but a Breton.

I married one. The best part is that her parents give her a hard time about it just like I do.

My stop at the U of R featured a blanket of white for nearly the entire school year along with the Rochester feature of what must have been a crew coming out at about 9PM to roll up the streets and to make sure that every establishment of any possible interest to me in the city and surrounding area was closed.

Ha!

I can only imagine dating one that was a Breton, that's uber-Ginger. Aren't they the inner circle of the soullessness?

Where the hell is my training class? They're now 30 minutes later than they were yesterday!

And here I was feeling bad about dragging this morning and arriving 10 minutes late, due to the fact that I have a cold and feel like crap.

Working with this client is oh so much fun.

Funny you mention that blanket of white. I've never been to Rochester when there wasn't snow on the ground.

Summer there must last, like, six weeks in July and August?

Well, Frenchies are pretty weird to start with. When you factor-in the fact that Brittany is the French equivalent of Idaho (crossed with Amish Pennsylvania), you get some pretty "interesting" folk. She was actually a russet ginger, which led me to suspect she harbored Belgian blood. I made sure to inform her of such on a regular basis. :D

I love the French technology part. Of course, the French Canadians are the ones to blame for the awesome CRJ . And Montréal does have that Paris-style Metro with the rubber tires, and doors that open while the train is still in motion.
