Too bad that AmEx MR transfers don't count for that plan. I'd consider it at that ratio.

I just didnt like the boarding process and not being able to pick the seat prior to boarding.

Reason enough for me never to fly them.

Getting up for a 7:30 AM flight is bad enough. No way in hell will I ever take the 5:05 AM flight out of here.

well a 5:05am flight would allow for an easier time to spend the whole night prior drinking then flying out w/o ever thinking about sleeping...which correct me if I am wrong one of the main purposes of those who post in said BOX ;)

Yeah. Anyone here have any experience trying to use SkyMiles as a non-status member? I'm guessing if KVS shows award availability on KL/AF flights for dates I want, I would be able to get those flights at the lowest award level? If that's the case, I may transfer some SPG points. DL's recent gutting of their program does not inspire much confidence.

I have a ton of skymiles from the Avis/DL promo and i've been able to find reasonable inventory as a general member.

The other thing to consider, request a status match with NW and use your one-time match since it doesn't matter. This way when they merge the programs, you'll be a Plat Elite with DL. :)

You need to check delta.com for mileage amounts (do a dummy booking...no need to log in). It's SO HARD to find cheap seats nowadays. It will show AF but won't show KL. You need to call. I don't even know if I will transfer miles to DL.....its THAT hard to redeem them.

My mom uses DL for upgrades to Argentina , she has no status as she credits
the DL flights to CO , her miles come from the DL Amex

I don't think NW matches to Plat very often. They look at your latest flown flight activities vs your status level.

CO added EWR-GRU (for $699+) to the list of specials for this weekend. I'm convinced that I've lost my mind because I actually considered going...

There is also a $680+ fare available this weekend if you play with the dates a little.

If I weren't going to AMS this weekend, I would jump on this in a heartbeat.

Keep in mind that Brazil requires a visa which would require an expensive expediter this late in the week. In fact, it might be too late to get one.

I think it's a free for all right now as the folks in MN could care less. I just got my match to Platinum yesterday.

Even a Gold comp would help with redemption. And, really, this is one of those use-it or lose-it situations.

That's what I had feared. I think I'll just keep those as SPG points for now, then. Besides, I would have to convert 60,000 SPG Points to get the results I want (around 200K SkyMiles, for 2x J seats to Europe).
