Yes, and yes. I've always gone in via T2. Way easier, in my experience.

It's like bizzaroworld in there. Between the small gate areas (although a handful of them actually have decent seating space), odd shape and gate set-up, general crowdedness, and low ceilings, I cannot say that it is one of my favorite airport terminals. The Todd Grey restaurant is nice, however.

After I checked in and discovered that there was no F security line, I decided I was too lazy and tired to go to T2. At least I wasn't in a hurry.

It's an experience every aerogeek should have, though. I actually wondered around T2 and T3 just to watch the controlled chaos and general oddness.

Flickr has also fixed their API so that if you e-mail a photo from your iPhone the EXIF data sticks to it.

Thanks - I saw Flickr Uploadr but was not sure if there was something better out there. I'll give it a shot.

^ to the ability to properly email from the iPhone to flickr.

The only good part of DL's set-up at JFK is the moving walkway connecting the two terminals. It's really bouncy (and therefore fun).

Other than that, a hearty boo'erns to everything T2/3 at JFK. I remember when they finished with the renovations the USAToday wrote a love-fest about how great it was. I went there really wanting to like it, but, no dice.

Although this was the location I heard the infamous "will the passenger leaving a chicken at the security check-point please return to claim your lost item" announcement last spring. I still wonder what was up with that. @:-)

Yeah, I took the walkway a couple of times yesterday and got some good bounce.

Sounds like a Central/South America flight to me. :p

Bouncy moving walkways are fun. I seem to recall PHL having a bunch of them several years ago. Sadly, I think they are all gone now. Or, was that Terminal B at EWR? Hmmm...

I agree. They are not nearly as comfortable and they feel a bit narrower as well. The storage area is missing from the center console as well. :(

I wonder why they only put them on the new 739ERs and not the new 738s...

They also have effectively less knee room than the older seats, despite having the same pitch. The back of the new seats is flat, and the seatback pocket is on top of it. The old seats have the recessed portion in the middle of the back, which allows the seatback pocket to fit inside the back of the seat, and provides more knee room for the passenger in the row behind, especially when the seat is reclined.

And I really miss the center console storage area on the new seats. It's perfect for my wallet, iPod, and BlackBerry.

Is that the old PA terminal?

I've never set foot inside DL's facilities at JFK.

While I am certainly not up to par with the normal caliber of photographer that the Box enjoys, I do like snapping a few pictures of SAN Runway 27 when I park at my favorite lot above the runway. I thought a shot of the penalty box might be appropriate. ;)

I was seriously so fascinated by the weirdness and general unpleasantess of the place that I wandered around for awhile in awe.

At least T2 has a higher ceiling, although the interior walls look like the inside of a metal lawn shed.

It's not the worst facility I've ever seen, but it makes ATL look really nice in many ways.

Fortunately, my CR9 flight yesterday departed from a jetway, obviating the need to walk out onto the tarmac using the crude CRJ covered walkway in 25 degree weather.

I hadn't ATL'ed for a while and was there a few months ago and shocked at how nice they've made the DL parts. Between the fifth runway improving ops, and the marble floors, etc. my disdain for that airport is severely diminished.

In fact, I'll be there next week. Twice.

T3 is, it was the old PA worldport. T2 used to be Delta/Northwest AGES ago. Ironic how they are coming together again. :)

SAN has a penalty box?!?! :) I've never had to wait at that airport for anything. Once, we pulled to the side and that was because they couldn't get the second engine started. Yay airbus!

ATL is a lot nicer now with the renovations. The new floors, signage, and improved restrooms have gone a long way toward cleaning that place up.
