I was looking into creative routings to the do and I am trying to make it mini mileage run. I found EWR to PTY for $191 plus tax, about $270 all in. Books into L. I would not mind this to earn 6,400 EQM’s ^ and start the year off right. I checked Feb 6-Feb 9. The routing I selected was EWR-IAH / IAH-PTY Feb 6 & PTY-IAH / IAH-EWR Feb 9, obviously this is no good for the do.

I then tried the multi city search and selected Feb 6 EWR-IAH (O fare), Feb 9 IAH-PTY (Y fare), Feb 9 PTY-EWR via IAH (L fare) for a total of $1,131 all in. For some reason the IAH-PTY only shows up in Y, anyone know if there is anyway to build and book this at the $271 fare?

Any assistance would be appreciated

Thanks

It's really sad when the tacky part is not the old brown WN seats!

That place looks like a real trip.

And I loved the pics of the retired aircraft. That Independence Air CRJ is looking pretty parted-out. Hopefully the COEX/Chautauqua CRJs will be joining it soon.

I was on that AMS-JFK in Prem+ today too. I mentioned in another thread the irony. I tried to win but didn't the Openskies tickets. Then business came up and I ended up spending the last week outside of AMS. I've had my eyes on Openskies since they started and was eager to give it a shot. Very pleased. Definitely my first choice for a comfortable, affordable seat. Besides the seating and price, I really enjoyed the 757. Each cabin gave that "private jet" feeling that you get in places like up in the bubble on a 747. The best thing Openskies did was remove the Economy section on those planes. My fingers are crossed that they stick around. I know I'll be flying that route a half dozen times a year and would be happy on Openskies. - I was a couple rows in front of you. One of the 4 people in the section...

I'm doing EWR-PBI on Wednesday and last I checked the 753 is showing 20/24 up front. Of course, EWR-PBI always has high loads up front.

It changes because you are breaking the fare in IAH instead of PTY. The first is a straight EWR-PTY super discounted fare, rougly the same as what we got for the Box mini-DO in PTY at the end of March. The multi-city search you did is pricing as EWR-IAH + IAH-PTY + PTY-EWR. It is pricing the tree segments as end-on-end, but the fare rules for the IAH-PTY on a Sunday without an overnight force it up to a Y fare. Chances of getting that to price as a good run to the DO are very slim.

I'm flying on Thursday. I've got a 6a flight on AA out of EWR, and I need to check a bag (wine). I'm not happy about it.
