And CM, as a 1K, i don't feel like a second-class citizen. The only airport that i've seen them overly cater to GS is at SFO and it's only with certain supervisors. Otherwise, be it on the phone or in person, I tend to get excellent service from most people.

Greetings from very, very cold London.
Sunny today so did some great sightseeing, but so cold that we also had to see the inside of a few pubs. Heading out to see Avenue Q tonight, then more fun tomorrow, when it may snow here. |

I tried to give UA-land the benefit of the doubt....I started reading over there a few months ago and the only thread that gives me any enjoyment is their Ask the Pilot thread. All one needs to do is lurk over there for a few days and it'll be crystal clear as to why UA doesn't make money: they don't care about anyone except GS, the FFers there are vehemently opposed to an EUA system, and their status tiers are rigidly enforced to the point that the the higher tiers probably believe that they are genuinely better human beings than the lower. I know there's some CO folk who also hold a status over there, and I certainly don't mean to pigeonhole them or make a blanket generalization, but it sure seems like the majority of the crowd over there are a polar opposite to CO. After the *A thing happens, I for one will be extremely careful in avoiding UA-operated flights. I don't want to learn a new FF system, and I don't want to be treated like something that lives on the bottom of a gate agent's shoe. That's the impression I get from that forum, and if I'm wrong so be it....I'm willing to listen. But that's where I'm at so far.

Yep and they are able to fill the planes. I don't think I've ever been on a Houston-Dallas flight that wasn't near capacity.
AA used to fly a DAL-HOU shuttle but I'm not sure it's there anymore. DAL is really convenient to downtown Dallas and DFW is great if you need to go to the H-E-B area or Ft. Worth. Driving from DAL to Hurst or Euless can take a hour or so due to construction on 183 and 30. |

I say we do something on Sunday morning/afternoon. I will probably fly in Friday morning and leave Sunday mid-afternoon.

I'm voting for Sunday too -- maybe Sunday brunch? Looking at my schedule I'll probably be in Port Arthur (GAG!) for work the following week, so I'll probably just stick around Houston Sunday, rather than fly home for one night.
We could do Empire Cafe as they have a pretty good breakfast/brunch. |

Sunday brunch sounds good to me. Count me in. |
I just saw a guy throw a B---h fight over tonic water in the RCC, must be a 1K.

Whew. Just dropped my 'rentals off at LGA. That whirlwind trip is done (for me). No more playing tour guide in NYC for the rest of the year.
So, what have I missed in the box? Are we still trying for the mini meat meet on Monday? |
