Um, something has gotten confused. I am unable to get to JFK so my name should not be on the list. I was commenting on the fact that I would like to fly Open Skies at some point in the future, not that I could go to AMS. If only wishing made it so. :( In any event, it gives better odds for those of you who actually can go.

In truly sad news, i had to do work today. I'm fried. So, to pass the time, i'm looking at plane tickets.

Where should i go? :)

Well, pin a rose on your nose. :o

I really would like to try out the Open Skies seats with my 6'8" 420lb frame. It's like a quality benchmark: can your seat hold Mackie's larda$$?

I think that despite your earlier indication of not being available, the ALCO took this as a tacit entry into his sweepstakes.

If it's a gang of nine in the sweepstakes, hey, good to go. I'll take 11% over 10% any day.

Duly noted. Also, I just received the contact info for the OpenSkies rep, and dropped her an email inquiring whether the tix can be split. I doubt I will get a response back tonight, as I imagine their offices are closed for the day (assuming she's a 9-5 type staff, rather than a GA or Call-Center agent). Hope you can all enjoy a bit of suspense for the evening. :D

I wonder what Randy's response would have been if I had asked him:

"Thanks. However, I was wondering whether I could trade the two tickets for a different title, instead? Could you please replace "Flyertalk Evangelist" with "Post Whore"?

:D

As much as we all like the apt ALCO, you could always plead with Randy for a one-time handle change @:-) :D

Due to MackieMan's withdrawal, and the last-minute telephonic shenanigans of a certain someone, we have a tenth entrant (nice, round Number) in the drawing:

J.Edward

How is Mr. J.Edward?

Bloody hell, i've gotten bit my DL/NW. I had a SEA-LHR flight scheduled for Feb and it's now cancelled. I was kind of looking forward to that line on the FM and I don't think i can squeeze it in prior to the 1/7 termination.

That sucks! Me thinks that the DL/NW merger is good for nobody, except a few DL and NW executives and some large NW shareholders. Kind of the same way the Sirius acquisition and subsequent raping of everything good XM had going for it is not going to benefit me as an XM subscriber in the least.

Yeah, i'm in total agreement. But being the mileage whore that I am, i've managed to amass 150k DL miles from Avis, Budget and Bosley without ever having to step foot on a DL flight. :)

As for Sirius/XM, definitely. I called to cancel my service, but they gave me three months for free, so i figure after the three months i can cancel.

I ran up about 50,000 miles on DL a few years ago without flying. We used those miles for a trip last year right after Christmas.

I figure a stack of miles in ST can come in handy and since i've requested a status match with NW, that should make redeeming them much easier once they merge the programs.

Probably every thread, but not every post.

Unfortunately I'm going to have to get a status match after the first of the year to NW or DL, since I'll have to start flying DL at some point next year. Right now I have a couple thousand miles on NW and a whopping 54 miles on DL. Of course those will get merged, and since I'm sitting on a bunch of Diners Club points from my corporate card right now, and they're running a nice bonus for DL exchanges until the end of the year, I'll probably do a redemption of Diners Club points for SkyMiles in a few weeks to take advantage of that offer.
