I never thought I'd say this, but I'm sick of Colorado. Denver is like Houston with smoggy mountain scenery.

I'm definitely up for a mini-DO. I seem to remember a post about hockey games that some of us were up for attending.

There was talk about it being on a Friday at the end of January.

On checking in this morning for my flight tomorrow I found the perfect seating situation:

A few aisle and window seats available and no one in my row's middle seat. Now, to see if things actually pan out.

Yes; This is how I spend my mornings...

UA FA Forces Passenger With CO 752 Photo As Wallpaper to Close Laptop

Add this to the already voluminous category of "Why I Am Glad That I Avoid UA" threads: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showt...=756895&page=5.

The sight of an airline that actually funds its pension must be obscene to a UA FA :p

colpuck Nov 14, 2007 1:47 pm

Fa tells passenger to remove co photo from the view of other passengers and now a bunch of UA FTrs are putting the same picture up as their background.

hmm this sounds like the start of a guerilla marketing campagin.

I think I'll do this before I take my first flight on the blighted skies in years next week. I haven't flown UA since they sent DC-10's ORD-IAD.

Also, would someone please break the glass on the Penalty Box Firehose and rinse me off? I have the stench of OMNI on me...

Well, depending on the equipment you fly, the plane may look very much like those DC-10s you remember inside. And the flight attendants will too, just a little wider, grayer, and a lot grumpier.

I am investigating potential honeymoon spots, right now I'm looking at SXM, ROR, NAS, or MAJ.

Anyone have any suggestions? My original thought was MLE but the costs to get there are a little much.

No traditional HNL?

What are you looking for in terms of attractions/activities/sights during the trip?

NAS screams spring break to me, not honeymoon.

We did ROR for a week during our honeymoon and found that unless you're going to be scuba diving, there is very, very, very little to do there. Nothing to see. No good beaches to speak of. And it isn't cheap, though it isn't MLE expensive. And if you are going to dive you'll want to be on a liveaboard so you're at the dive sites instead of the hour+ schlep back and forth each day to the docks and then 15-30 minutes to the hotel.

No real opinon on SXM or MAJ.

I've thought about it but I am not really a "people" person when it comes to events such as a honeymoon and I really like the idea of seclusion.

We (the S/O and I) have discussed the time as being one where we are not sightseeing or being foodies, which is what we usually end up doing whenever go somewhere new. We just explore and don't relax. So, we're looking for relaxation, some form of seclusion, good beaches, etc.

I couldn't agree with you more! While I am not engaged (yet... much to her dismay :)) I have done a decent amount of research into honeymoon destinations (I think it is the travel geek in me). Have you looking into Thailand at all? Not sure what your budget is but Thailand has all of the things you mentioned - seclusion, good beaches and plenty of room to relax. And come on, not many people can say they went to Thailand on their honeymoon!

If you are looking for off the beaten path, Le Meridien Ile Des Pins in New Caledonia might do the trick. The Cook Islands are another great bit of secluded paradise in the South Pacific. I'm not sure what sort of routings are available via KE or China Southern to get to Noumea or Rarotonga...but AF LAX-PPT could get you most of the way, or far enough to take a local carrier (Air Pacific, perhaps) the rest of the way...

If all else fails, you could use Coupon Connection to trade for NZ miles to reach one of those spots...
