The food is fantastic and decently priced for the portions. The wine list is ^ and there is a bar. They do group seating as well.

Since we were talking about a possible hockey DO, this place is close enough to accommodate a lunch and then some hockey.

Looks nice. Thanks for the suggestion, as it looks like an excellent DO venue.

Why must EUA toy with me? IAH-MIA tomorrow A=9, and no EUA yet. I doubt I shall miss the upgrade, but does CO really think it's going to sell 9+ F tix on IAH-MIA within 24 hours?

Continental just sent me a notice for my upgrade on IAH-EWR. Problem is.. I'm already in F as part of a BF ticket... Hmmm..

LOL. Sounds like the "You've Been Upgraded" sticky-notes SPG places on your key-card folder when you have already booked a suite

Gravitas is awesome! Try The Shade on 19th, close to Ashland and Harolds...used to live right down the street and it is numero uno! ^^^

The CO upgrade Gods have smiled on me! :)

Is it normal to worry (after having purchased paid F tix to Hawaii), whether you will:
A. Be slapped by an FA
B. Lose your paid F seat to an upgraded 1K due to an equipment swap
C. In the event of irrops have a GA insist that your QUP ticket is a coach ticket with a complimentary upgrade, so you will be flying your ORD-HNL flight in UA Y-
D. Be denied entry to RCCs as a BD *G, and have security called on you when you politely attempt to correct the matron

What have I gotten myself into.

But I'm not transiting through IAD. Guess that means I don't get any mice? What sort of compensation am I due? :p

A broken F seat on the HNL flight.

Oh wait. That's not compensation. That's just what you normally get.

LOL - welcome to the wonderful world of UA. You should try to do something that gives rise to a slap (as long as there are no legal consequences to you once you land).

This is why I do not fly UA.

The first thought that popped into my head after seeing this article was to start a thread here entitled:
AF Compensates 170kg Man €8,000 + Cost of 2nd Seat; Effect on CO?
But after some rational, albeit it rare, thought I decided a PB posting would be more amusing.

"....said he was deeply humiliated when airline staff measured his girth with wrapping tape... "

Is there a video of this somewhere, that sounds priceless to see.

I thought that one-way tickets were auto-SSSS'ed? I checked-in for my IAH-AUS flight and had no trouble with security and there was no SSSS on the BP. ^

They're not. One-way tickets for infrequent fliers who aren't checking luggage are very often given the SSSS treatment, but I've flown many one-ways as an elite and it's never happened.

Not if purchased in advance with a credit card. Where you get into trouble is when you're re-routed onto another carrier and the new record looks like someone who walked up and paid cash for the one-way. Those are always SSSS-ed.
