How exactly did that happen? When you reprinted the boarding passes, did the kiosk just spit out passes with different seats? Were you moved for a FAM?
I got on the plane and sure enough, 14C was taken by a normal looking guy... To this day I still cannot figure out what happened. This was in late '06 at IAH. |

I have no idea how it actually happened. I had picked 14C on a 738 and when I checked my bag it spit out 19C as my seat and gave me a message to see a CO representative. They walked over and I told them that my seat wasn't what I had chosen but she did not give me any information on why.

That is very odd. Hartmann, I do OLCI every week and 95% of the time check bags when I get to the airport using the bag check kiosk. I've never had a change in seat assignment. Something definitely was up when that happened to you. I'd guess that it was an extremely rare occurrence, and you should be fine if you try it again.

I have a few questions about this thread, and life in general:
1) Why is this thread here? 2) What purpose does this thread serve? 3) Is this thread related to anything remotely associated with CO? 4) Why am I constantly posting mind-numbing crap on this thread? 5) Why is this one of the first threads that I check daily....or multiple times daily? 6) Will I get OnePass milage for posting on this thread? How about an advance EUA for my flight to FLL next Tuesday? :D :D :D 7) Will A&M beat Texas this year? 8) Why did I buy Grodo's book yeaterday, and then read about 100 pages before going to sleep? 9) When will CO initiate service to MUC? 10) Why am I considering taking advantage of a CO.com special to TUC this weekend, just to see Tombstone and also because I haven't been on an airplane in almost 2 weeks? 2) Certainly not post-padding, ego-stroking, OMNIfying the CO Forum, avoiding work, or avoiding studying. It's an FT Zen Koan 3) As much as the Delta Forum Lounge is related to DL 4) Well, you are an Aggie :D 5) See answer 4 6) With any luck, and depending on your posting, you might end up on a watch list 7) Just as certainly as it will be snowing in Bryan during the game... 8) Stalking is a crime in most states 9) Attaboy! 10) Several weeks here as well. I'm starting to get the shakes. Thankfully, am flying to AUS next weekend. As for a possible Micro-DO, the weekend of the sixteenth sounds good. I got referred for a maxillo-facial surgeon consult for Aug. 7...so, can't say for certain when I'll be available later in August, depending on when I pay for the pleasure of a sadist rooting around in my jaw. I will, of course, attempt to schedule any such gruesomeness around a Micro-DO ;) |

1) Why is this thread here?
A horrible result of someone having too much time on their hands. 2) What purpose does this thread serve? It's a productivity marker; that is the farther away one is from this thread, the more product s/he is. 3) Is this thread related to anything remotely associated with CO? Yes: both "Box", "Continental" and "CO" are spelled with an 'O'. Also 'O' is a critical component in Lucky Charms, the preferred breakfast of the businessman. 4) Why am I constantly posting mind-numbing crap on this thread? When you gotta go, you gotta go. 5) Why is this one of the first threads that I check daily....or multiple times daily? I'd blame this on the numbing effect. 6) Will I get OnePass milage for posting on this thread? How about an advance EUA for my flight to FLL next Tuesday? Not sure - my morning bowl of Lucky Charms offered no insight into today's mysteries. 7) Will A&M beat Texas this year? Trick question; both will loose to UH <dodges rotten tomato> 8) Why did I buy Grodo's book yesterday, and then read about 100 pages before going to sleep? Did you perhapses mistake it for a meal at meal time, eat the last 100 pages -mistaking it for a pizza- while reading the first 100 and then fall asleep due to paper-pulp-toxic-shock syndrome? 9) When will CO initiate service to MUC? As soon as they can open the 'new runaway' on the roof. 10) Why am I considering taking advantage of a CO.com special to TUC this weekend, just to see Tombstone and also because I haven't been on an airplane in almost 2 weeks? |

Which brings up a CO-related question <finally, but just to keep this thread from getting moved to OMNI>: Do any D-I football teams in Texas use Continental as a charter? I know that TCU, SMU, and Texas use AA, A&M used to use ATA, but now might use CO. I know that UH and Rice do. Baylor probably uses WN, because I'm almost positive that UTEP does. North Texas probably just has some old yellow dogs....I think. :D |

V Australia plans service from Australia to the USA in 2008:
VIRGIN BLUE has christened its yet-to-be-launched US bound carrier V Australia, and provided its strongest hint yet it could launch a fifth airline brand next year - in the form of an ultra low-cost domestic airline. The airline yesterday proceeded with its plans for the new long-haul carrier despite signs it could face some significant hurdles in getting US regulatory approval to fly 10 weekly services with Boeing 777-300ERs to the US by late 2008. "In the public interest this is the right thing to do. I would be disappointed if the Americans did not see it that way," said Virgin Blue chief executive Brett Godfrey. http://www.smh.com.au/news/business/...339081703.html Hopefully, this will provide another option to earn and burn CO miles. |

Interesting, but not related to Virgin America. The only connection is the use of the brand name "Virgin."

OH MY GOD
I've only just checked the film offerings on overseas flights for July. THERE IS NO QUEEN LATIFAH. There is Ice Cube, who I presume is standing in for Queen Latifah this month, but the fact remains that Queen is not featured. Wow. I can only hope that they rectify this situation next month. A Continental flight overseas without Queen Latifah is just un-American. |
