Just dropping in to take a break from the interesting, but ultra-serious debates going on in other threads today.

I'm a little disappointed in ALCO, considering that after the JetSet party at the DO, I awoke at the Doubletree at 7:55 am, had a 9:00 am flight, and still made it to the airport in time to visit the P Club and grab some Sarah Lee before boarding.

If I am not driving, then the flight is not a success, if I have not had a few before, during, after...

I'm just about 1 year+ old Platinum but from my Gold&Silver experience, Saturday late afternoon/evening flight out of IAH has most successful rate.

Other than that, basically I do the same as ssullivan.

Here is one for the "Aren't You Glad You Avoid Flying UA" file (if you are like me and avoid flying UA, of course ;)): http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=754000

I found this part humorous:

The commotion had gotten bad. Other pax noticed and the purser rushed over to comfort me and reprimand the FA. (This is where the form for e-100's was issued - they later came in the mail).

Yeah I was reading that one earlier on the UA forum and laughing. I guess I won't complain about the broken seats and grumpy flight attendants I've had on my few UA flights this year. At least I wasn't dragged out of the lav by my collar and slapped by a flight attendant!

I may have missed the 6:00am to IAH, but made the 6:50 to EWR. If the earlier flight to SJU out of EWR hadn't been packed to the gills (no luck on SBY), I would have made it there 3 hours early. As it was, I was only :45 late. :p

================================================== =
Why I'm posting this? No, not because of the thread title.

When I met with ALCO/J.Edwards/xyzzy and others the night before DO III, ALCO mentioned to consider having next IAH Micro DO at Toyota Center. Since this is minor league hockey (AHL), ticket price to sit in club level area (where bar is located) is reasonable... Actually, pretty cheap compared to the same seating for Rockets(NBA) game. ($31 vs $165, and if we have more than 20 people, group ticket price will be down to $26)

So here is the schedule for ALCO ;) to consider next IAH Micro DO...

I was just breaking your chops, but the point remains: :td: to CO coach mileage runs.

Cool, thanks for posting this, PforPlatinum. A few dates jump out at me (merely because I will be in town those weekends), namely:

01/12/2008(Sat) 7:35pm, Manitoba Moose;
01/26/2008(Sat) 7:35pm, San Antonio Rampage, hockey visor; and
03/07/2008(Fri) 7:35pm, Hartford Wolf Pack, Toyota Center puck

I'll be flying around the globe on mistake and Q-UP fares on all other dates :D

I would not mind attending one of the January games.

ssullivan Nov 7, 2007 9:18 am

January is probably good for me. At this point I don't have anything on my schedule for most weekends that month. If we set a date far enough in advance (at least a month), then I should be able to make it.

theblakefish Nov 7, 2007 10:18 am

On a related note....wait a minute, what the heck is there to relate to in this thread? ssullivan's stories about Lubbock? Otter's blatent attempts to bump this thread to the top of the forum? fctsty's "Huh?? :confused: Oh. :rolleyes: ? J.Edward passed out in the corner after another Jell-O shot?

:cool:

Seriously,I am taking advantage of the LAX-HNL fare in December, and I have a room reserved at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. However, after doing a bit of research, I see that Honolulu is kind of like Houston with good weather and beaches. Oahu might be something that I catch on a later trip, so does anyone have a suggestion on another place to visit in Hawaii? I'm trying to deplete my 380k Hilton points, so an island with a HH property is a must. The one in Kahui looks a bit old and more like a funky place, and the 3 in Maui look cool, as does the one on the Big Island. I am willing to put up with big resort stuff to get a free room, and I'm thinking that the Big Island would be cool to go to the Volcanos, black sand beaches, and to find a somewhat deserted place to catch some rays (outside the Hilton there,ya know?).

Does anone have suggestions? Should I think about the Conrad-esque property in Wailea, Maui? Howabout just staying in Waikiki, Oahu and doing my vacation there?

Hawaiian airlines has cheap fares, and full EQM's to boot!! Gracias.

Question on something I should already know: if I am in BF and my hubby is in Y (IAH-LGW), can I get him into President's Club at IAH before departure? We don't have PClub membership obviously. Thanks boys :-)
