She is not a bog GGD fan. She is more of an 80's girl, so she did  at my selection of music.

Well someone walked in that I was not expecting. I closed the lid and went to shove it in the draw, but I pressed the eject button for the dvd drive. I quickly closed the dvd drive and put the notebook in the draw. Anyone want to guess what happened next?

The Goo Goo Dolls: Live in Buffalo July 4, 2004 DVD began playing. It sounded like I was singing in the shower. I was busted, but it was not a supv, just a co-worker who thinks this ban is as  as I do. phew......

What have I learned? Keep the speakers on mute!

:D Glad you weren't busted. Thanks for the good laugh!

Remind me - are you doing IAH-CDG or EWR-CDG?

EWR-CDG on CO56 (dep. 6:40p).

Isn't that great? That squishing you hear underfoot is the slippery slope, boys and girls.

(We need to start thinning out the herd.)

^ Those should come in handy! I'd assume horse just tastes like beef - I guess I'm in.

"They serve horses here, don't they?"

Hint: it's where she lives. ;) It's in a strange foriegn land, where there are no losers, only winners. Where I'd be willing to bet that the youth leagues don't keep score because it would cause hurt feelings.

An unexpected DVD launch situation could have turned out much, much worse.

I've been avoiding posting in the box and reading too much, but I knew I had to give in sometime.

Does this mean I have to read all 23k previous posts to catch up on the topics at hand?;):D

Thank you for cheering me up.

P.S. - a ban on notebooks and the internet seems ludicrous. Does the work you do not require internet?

I am an Emergency Medical Dispatcher/Call-Taker. We have computers at our shared work stations for company e-mal and internet, but it has been severely restricted to only a few websites that we need for work, such as hospital diversions, google maps, our own intranet site, ect. Only a few of the computers work though, our boss used this "cyber patrol" software that he installed last year, but the trial license has expired and the software has apparently written to the registry of the computers not to ever allow internet access. He refuses to let anyone with computer knowledge near the computers to correct the problem though.

At times, we can have a lot of downtime. During those slow periods, we would use our personal notebooks to watch dvd’s, check e-mail or in my case surf FT. Well a few weeks ago, two employees were not doing their job accurately (paperwork and documentation problems) so the boss (who is scared of confrontation) decided not to council those two employees, but to simply punish everyone and ban the internet and personal notebook computers. I am fairly confident the boss did this in hopes to create an even more hostile work environment, because he has made it clear who the two employees are that are responsible for the ban.

I personally have used google earth on my notebook computer to pinpoint the location of 9-1-1 callers when all they were able to provide me with was long and lat from their gps or cell phone device, because they had absolutely no clue where they were and because our computer system will not recognize long and lats.

That already happened to a co-worker of mine here. I found out he is into some really weird stuff!

No. Exotic meats are a true spice of life. I would love to try just about any kind of meat, but I think reindeer is at the top of the heap.
