I dont mind flying out of LGA and connecting in IAH, more miles and better upgrade chance :) I hope the fares from LGA drop with WN there.

I definitely think it will force the other carriers at LGA to lower their fares a good amount.

As for where WN flies, I think it will be MDW, HOU, and BWI out of LGA. I just don't think the leisure market direct flights would do it for them. I could see them selling a lot of flights as LGA-BWI-Florida if not as just stopovers to pick up more people.

POST 1,000I honestly thought I was at 1000 a long time ago. Considering some of you did that many most in 3 days last week is seems to be a weak accomplishment.

Congratulations! There's no going back, now. :D

MDW and HOU I'd agree with. BWI not so much. A bad day in the NE would cripple everything on that route. I think a LGA - BNA route to feed into WN's large presence there is much more likely in my opinion.

Although it's WN, so we might see an odd-ball route like JAX pop-up. And they'll make it work.

I don't find it bad, other than the need to sign back in when getting passed between the Hilton HHonors site and the reservations sites. Most users don't realize this, but Hilton is basically running separate sites under completely different domains, which is why getting passed back and forth between the HHonors site and the sites used for making reservations often requires logging back in. My simple solution is to go to the HHonors site, and then after logging in, if I go to do anything with an existing reservation, I open the reservation in a new tab by holding down CTRL as I click the link. Same thing if I go to make a new reservation. That way the original log in on the HHonors site holds, because I never close that session.

Other than that, I think the Hilton site is a million times better than the SPG site. At least on Hilton's site all my reservations show up and I can easily do just about anything I need to with Hilton on the web. Can't say the same about Starwood.

Thanks for the tip. I will have to make use of this!

If you're talking about the service, I'd disagree. I've been constantly pleased, especially with the little things that they offer. Even boarding hasn't been a problem. As long as you get through OLCI between T-24 and T-23, you're probably going to end up in the early to mid As and will get to sit exactly where you want. If there are more people in front of you than should be, just discuss with the crowd how you believe the public school education you received must have been sub-standard since you are number 15 and it looks like there are more than 15 people in front of you. The SW folks have been good about catching on.

Plus, they have all of Term A at BWI, which makes things a little smoother.

But, if we are talking about RR, I'm in your corner. The expiration of accrued segments just drives me nuts. It would be fine if they were my preferred carrier, but CO is competitive enough on every route I fly except BWI-ABQ. Asking me to visit my in-laws 8 times in 24 m is just crazy.

I believe I have only flown them 3 times, and that was a few years back. If they do come to LGA and fly into HOU I think I might get lured into flying them to visit the fiance's mother who lives in Clear Lake.

I just didnt like the boarding process and not being able to pick the seat prior to boarding.

I don't believe I've flown WN since the days they used to have rearward-facing seats on the 737-200s

LOL, I remember that. I was on one that had those and there was a very attractive lady sitting right across from me. It was actually kind of wierd but would have been a good idea for a family of 4 to sit together.

I have all of you to thank / blame for that. :D

The WN boarding process is a bit less cattle call with their new system that rewards those who do OLCI as early as possible.

No love for ACY? (Sad but true - WN had it narrowed down to ACY or PHL and the PHL bid package was better.)

Morning, Box! :D

Morning Box... best line I heard yesterday.

"I think I might try the Harpoon Rouchfetzen, what is it like?"

"Well it is like a Rouch ale....."

so helpful, tried it anyway it smelled almost like smoke bacon, needless to say it was delicious

belynch Nov 19, 2008 9:14 am

Unfreaking believable.

Based on my current bookings through EOY I'll hit CO mileage at 74,632 (due, mainly, to not flying CO for my last few trips due to inconvenient times / prices).
What really puts salt on this wound is that I think my BIS miles for the year are around 115k. How could I have been so stoopid.

Looks like we'll be going somewhere for New Years. Too bad flight prices are so astronomical for that week.

(Regarding WN at HPN - no freaking way. There's no space. The airport was designed to handle 2 hang-gliders a day. To say it's over capacity with FL and B6 bringing in their "real" aircraft is the biggest understatement in the world. That and I don't think Westchesterites are necessarily the target demographic for WN. The monocle to pax ratio flying out of HPN is at least 3:4.) :o
