We went to a black-tie event Monday night and she told everyone that since she had me in a tux she was going to kidnap me, take me to LAS, and get married.

I, of course, was more worried about what carrier she was choosing for the kidnapping, and EQM earning abilities, than anything else.

Tinton Falls I think , I don't think SQ has a flight there.

Please do advise on those premium outlets, especially whether or not they are survivable in the company of multiple females. I was driving up to EWR not too long ago and happened to look to my right and see a shopapalooza. I looked again and said to myself "There was never any shopping there. Hmmmmm." My mother and my fiancee want to go, and I'm running out of excuses.

In other news, half of the employment puzzle is solved - the fiancee not only got recalled to Borgata but got more money out of it.

If that took place , you not only would have gotten miles, you would also not have to buy a ring .

I too would be cheesed if my fiancee picked a carrier that served LAS but did not represent a good mile-earning opportunity. I've already told her that if we go to LAS at any point that there is no debate permitted w/r/t going PHL-IAH-LAS.

Don't worry, she knew you well enough to choose CO, and she booked a great fare she found on Expedia.

Even after you're through holding out, I'm pretty sure it's possible to fall back on one's own cluelessness and stupidity as a defense to most f-ups. I've been doing just about everything wrong for years. The holding out part is essential. It acclimates them to the fact that you really are that stupid, and aren't especially trainable. :D

She doesn't like CO. Says it smells like band-aids.

Probably would have been on Air Canada.

Texas has one of the most liberal informal marriage laws out there (which is a bit shocking, or not, depending upon your perspective).

One need only show:

1. Agreement to be Married;
2. Holding selves out as married in Texas; and
3. Cohabitation.

1 may be proven by establishing that 2 and 3 occurred. There are no specific time-requirements in Texas. IIRC, I saw a case where three months of cohabitation and holding out were sufficient.

I paid about 45% of what a comparable ring would have cost in the mainland U.S. (verified quality of stones/materials by independent appraisal). After flights (x2) to STT, as well as three nights hotel at the Westin St. John, I still came out ahead.

I'm filing this in the back of my mind for future reference. :)

+1 I figure it's safe once it's known everyone is safe.

^^ Having never been, I think that would be a lot of fun. Now, can get the BRU crowd to go? :) And who's responsible for finding a good karaoke bar?

That is a relief. Congratulations.

However doesn't that create a bit of a geographical conundrum for you if you really want to get away from the casino business?
