GO GATORS!!

First blood drawn. :D

Of course, the few plays OU has strung together here isn't promising, but still, the scoreboard is looking okay to start.

Well, gang, travel to the office AND vacation request DENIED. MBM3 scratched for the BRU event unless something truly spectacular happens.

Bummer. :(

Big defensive stop from Florida, though the resulting drive ends in a punt/touch back. Way better than giving up a touchdown.

Sorry to hear that!

Does anyone have much experience flying EWR-BWI? My cheapest (non-driving) option to position myself for my BWI-SEA runs is to fly down on CO.

I'm thinking of taking a little bit of a risk on CO2355 which arrives 1:05 before the flight to IAH departs. The earlier option would get me to BWI 5+ hours before the flight to IAH departs. Is this a really dumb move? My thinking is that I can always pay $25 to move up to the earlier flight if the weather looks like it will be bad. I can't imagine these EWR-BWI flights go out too full. Thoughts?

Big fat bummer :( You can always come with my kids and I ... We're going to the inauguration. It should be relatively quiet and uneventful there :D :D :D

Take the train. It's a much better way to go IMHO. I wouldn't cut it as close as you're planning unless it was a Saturday morning.

And another big stop from Florida's defense!!

Going into the half tied, but I like our chances. I hope I can stay up a bit more...I've been on the go for 24 hours now and it is taking its toll, even with the G IV flight home today.

The train would be my top choice, but Amtrak wants about $50-$60 more (for less convenient times) and overnight parking at train stations in the area is a pain. To avoid parking at a station, I'd have to take train about 40 minutes to Newark to catch Amtrak.

My scenario would be on a Friday - noon departure.

Nothing firm, no. :( I had a really good vibe on something that ended up staying within the company I applied to after the VP made three trips up to this area from TPA to interview people, and I have to mess with my resume somewhat to push the writing ability so I can apply at CO for document writing. I have the job bookmarked but I haven't done the resume work yet. I also found all of the concierge and concierge supv spots that I'm qualified for in the new LAS CityCenter project. Given the bloodbath that the ACY economy has been taking, I can't make myself believe that LAS is a smart move.

That sucks, sorry to hear it. I'm told from the folks around my office that like to go to LAS that it is hurting big time right now, so I wouldn't think that it would be the safest move. Have you considered west coast cities? SAN/SFO/SEA? I'm thinking that they all have sufficient business travel cultures to support a full time concierge position. The downside is the cost of living.

Gawd I am spectacularly drunk. I blame baglady. But for the second bottle of Shiraz, I would be fine right now (well, as normal as I ever get).

Oooh, is that a bottle of rum over there...

Someone, please, toss a small shiny object in my path... anything to stop the inexorable path towards total self-destruction

I shall throw nothing in your path as you spelling is too fine for you to be drunk enough yet. :D Personally, I'd go for gin :D

Hrm, I may be the only Priority Club person here and though their website mediocre. I didn't know spg was that awful.

Actually, Priority Club's website is rather functional. It's nothing special, but I've never had any issues with it either.

The downside is unless you're staying in an Intercontinental, Holiday Inns are highly inconsistent and overrated in my experience. That said, they are quite generous with the bonus points. Guess they have to bribe people to stay there.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the poor quality of the Marriott site...

I have not had any problems with SPG.com, but I usually only make 3-5 reservations with them each year (hoping that # will increase in 2009).

I have no complaints about Marriott's website. It works. Always. That's all I want.
