Yes. It's like sitting in a church pew.

(Not that I have any idea what that feels like)

The bottom cushions on CO 737's are shaped funny compared to everyone else. People who are taller than 6 ft may not notice the front edge can cut the blood of in your legs but then they're knees are jambed into the seat in front of them. The seat cushion needs what's called a waterfall edge. Also the head rest between the wings is further back than other airlines (except ex ATA 753) so if you try to sleep your neck feels like it's being wrenched back and if you do fall asleep you'll wake up unable to move your head.

I should edit to my post to clarify sitting "upright" in a church pew.

baglady -- cool. I'll ping you if I end up getting stuck. I have your contact info.

Yea, where else can you see families intermixed with bikers in the same place.

Ok, chili is simmering for the next couple hours. You still have time to get here, but the roads are a total mess.

em so being of 6ft has some advantages sitting in coach, I really don't have an cut off issue, and my head fits the winged headrests quite well, and I like the window so sometimes lean there instead.....
Add in the exit rows so knees are not in the back of the seat in front and it adds up to good for me!

I will admin sitting in the 'premium' seats on the 752 is not a mistake I will ever make again, nasty seats there with negative legroom when they person reclines.

Any fresh venison in it? :) homeade chili just has to have fresh venison, and double props if having fresh pork and turkey too!

You mention knees....but don't you at least sit in Exit row? I don't have any worries about my knees unless a mistake moves me to non exit row in Y.

I do sit in the exit row if I'm not upgraded. However, on a 777, the exit rows aren't all that, given that you end up with a narrower seat and a couple of lavs in front of you. And the seat still lacks padding, and has armrests that are rectangular in shape and hard and don't really seem to fit the contour of your arm very well.

Despite what CO likes to claim about there being very limited choices for Y seats on the market, it is possible to get comfortable seats for economy. WN has some of the most comfortable Y seats I've ever found, and some of UA's aren't bad either. Yet most of CO's are like sitting on a board after about an hour.

Try it w/ CO Y seats. I get all figgity after 6 hours.

Yesterday was my first day w/o an upgrade in a long time. We did confirmed standby as the flight had some open seats up front. It looked like we would clear T minus 3 hours. Then of course, it went away and only 1 seat available for u/g - we were #2 and #3 on the list. Sigh, so close but so far back. Then of course the guy in the middle was quite large (I was good about giving him the armrest and some extra room. Across from me - mother and 2 kids. She asked for extra sick bags because the kids tend to get sick often (they were fine). I was miserable on the four hour flight, can't imagine doing CO Y to Asia.
