Interesting... I keep going back and forth between the W and the Park Hyatt in Seoul. Maybe this is a sign that I should just burn SPG points at the W...

winner winner chicken dinner.

I stopped being an SPG whore when they jacked the categories up and completely screwed me on my Greece trip a year and a half ago. This is a fantastic development. ^

Any shift in the President Wilson at Cat 7? It is insane both in price and cat....

Effective when? I suppose I could go over to the SPG forum to check, but I'm lazy.

I can confirm that they offer "Specialty Select" rooms on points. For a slight premium over standard rooms (at the new rates... 12,500/night, rather than the 10,000/night generally charged for a Cat 4). You can obtain a 450 sq. ft. Fabulous Spa room with a jacuzzi tub facing floor-to-ceiling windows with a view of the river.

I'm so switching from the Westin Paris to the Prince Des Galles to save 8K/night during the Honeymoon.

ALC:rolleyes: you should look at the list again. I think the Price Des Galles is going UP to a 7, rather than down to a 5.

I could have sworn the list was changed. I saw W San Francisco going down to a 4, and then it disappeared

You should see what they have done with the food end of it. Hot egg on ciabatta breakfast sandwiches, pancake breakfast bowls, personal pizza, chicken fingers, Kona coffee. It's amazing compared to just a year ago. Do you edit what you shoot with an Avid, or is a system like that too highfalutin for affiliate TV? No offense intended but I've been out of the TV game for a while.

I edit on Grass Valley's Edius. It's a competitor to Avid.

Why did you have to mention what Wawa has done? Now I am thinking of taking a quick trip just to have a sample there. :(

I am saving 8K points total now on the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel in London. I check in 3/4 and it changes down to a cat 4 on Mar 2. I hope I don't get hosed and I am able to rebook after Mar 2.

ETA:

Now I notice the Le Méridien Piccadilly will be a Category 5 as of Mar 2, 2009. I am thinking I am going to try to stay there for the same amount of points I was going to spend before anyway.
