My problem is I'm greedy. I want it all. Figure out a way for me to stay in a Hilton (double points), Marriott (MegaBonus), and Starwood (Night After Night) property each Monday-Thursday between now and April 30 and get my employer to reimburse me for the cost of "staying" in three rooms each night and I'll be happy.

Fair enough. IME, SPG simply has more amazing/stellar properties across the board than HHonors or Marriott, and more "unique" properties (case in point - Marqués de Riscal, Elciego).

Also, since the categories are based upon average nightly rates, some phenomenal properties in areas like Asia/S. Africa/S. America/E. Europe can be had for an absolute pittance on points.

The IAH-BZE fare is 1 month too early... I could have planned a great 1 year anniversary using it.

I found the NW flight for Sept. :)

Those are all quite valid points, and why I'm torn between keeping status and points that really benefit me on my weekly work travel and domestic trips to smaller places versus acquiring massive quantities of SPG points that would benefit us when we go on more exotic vacations.

Is WBC on NW all the rage?

ssullivan Feb 19, 2009 11:16 am

I've really corrupted the Box FM this morning. I just updated my flights for the last week, adding the Box's first DC-9 and the first flight on FL.

Oh, and I gave in and flew my first CRJ of the year on Monday. At least it was a CR7 and I had an exit row aisle seat, so it wasn't too awful. Tomorrow's return flight is going to be really Awesome™ though. It's a full ASA CRJ-200, and I've got a non-exit window seat.

I've heard good things about it, especially on the 330s. One thing is certain though — it's far better than Y.

We are only missing MLU and LCH in Louisiana, now. I'll definitely hit MLU before year's end.

I might be able to pick up LCH at some point.

I flew it about four years ago and while it was nice, I still thought BF was better.

I'm not sure if much has changed. I was supposed to do a SEA-LHR run last month, but DL canceled the flight and I just ended up refunding the miles.

It is comparable to BF, with worse food and fewer movie selections on the AVOD.

Sounds about like comparing just about anything else on NW to CO.

But, if it was NW WBC versus anything else in Y, I'd take the WBC.
